If you experience something that jars you up enough and you haven't gone through something similar you will likely end up acting irrationally and way different from your normal. It doesn't take a narcissist explanation to understand how someone can act completely different given the circumstances around certain situations.

Also the question about the blue heart, you’ll see them use these colours in the endings, specifically blue and red. In 86’s case, red represents the lycoris which usually symbolises death and reincarnation. Whilst blue doesn’t have a specific object, the Legion gives enough of a representation of what it means. However for Asato, these colours are the polar opposite; blue means the world of the dead i.e Legion, whereas red signifies the living.

All I can say for Shin and Lena having feelings for each other is that they are the most popular ship in the series. To the point that there is literally a Shin x Lena day to celebrate them and post fanart of the two together all over social media. Take that information however you wish.
