I personally think he looks like a real person trying to function in a traumatizing situation. He has excellent growth though. I think people just don't like what they see in the mirror.

2024-05-09 15:51:19 +0000 UTCSo, a quick spoiler free lore explaination about the Book of Wisdom and the Gospels. There is the Book of Wisdom that knows all in the world. Past, present, and possible Futures. The owner of the Book of Wisdom attempted to make two copies of the book, but the magic the copies use to do what the Book of Wisdom does is imperfect. They are similar, but not as all knowing as the original. Beatrice has one of the two imperfect copies. The Witch Cult's Gospels are effectively a cheap knock off that a third party made in an attempt to copy how the original two copies of the Book of Wisdom were made. This is all explained by Roswaal during his conversation with Subaru in this episode, but due to how long Arc 4 is, their conversation from the novels became condensed and only hit the highlights. As for Roswaal serving Echidna, Roswaal did mention in one of the first couple of episodes this season that his family has always governed the Santuary for Echidna. He also got upset when her proper name wasn't used in the same conversation.

She lore dropped about the witches in ep 3, she gave him a way to get closure about his parents, she gave us all that absolute banger of her in a school outfit, and now this.
