PFFFFF. but truly the whole thing about holo foregoing being worshipped as the God for the village simply to aid elsa and the other guy is so wholesome and kind, which is a far cry from what she was like at the start of the show with her intense need to be worshipped and hatred for the church lol

The way I see it, Spice & Wolf ended up being seen as exceptionally “niche,” so the furthest interest in it was spoken of as not aimed at shounen-heads and sakuga nerds. It’s pretty clear from the get-go that this series won’t give you epic battles, oppressively raunchy fan service, superhero antics, so it was easy to write off immediately. Thankfully, a fanbase ended up growing, and it is a passionate, fierce, devoted group of people. I do think that a remake happening expanded the scope of folks who checked it out, and I heard no complaints as it aired. I’m certain that there was more than we think of anime fans who gave this version a chance and ended up kicking themselves for previously missing out on such superb, methodical, and endearing storytelling. I, for one, feel insanely blessed for having been hooked from the moment I found out this series even existed. I am elated that there ended up being reacters like Faroh who found true value and enjoyment in watching even just this version. My heart is full at this moment.

2024-09-20 01:17:13 +0000 UTCAs a very big fan of the show, I think series that do not feel to need to cater to the broadest audiences produce the most interesting things, but they cut themselves off from lots of (merch) revenue. I still hope we get a S2, but I've got a good feeling. Also, can we talk about Lawrence not being fazed in the slightest and acting all cool-headed and rational after being slammed into the ground by a massive paw?

I rarely hear anyone talking about this remake despite it being everything fans of the original series always said they wanted if a remake ever happened. I bring up how good this version of S&W is and a lot of people will respond with things like, "Oh, yeah. It's amazing," and... that's it. They have nothing else to say. I find it weird even if this is a remake.
