I didn't see answer in comments, but petalguise was already a sin archibishup in church before taking on witch factor and going mad because of pandroa, so his name "before" is not really known. but it was likely always petalguise (the whole b and p thing is something series has been inconsistent on early on but they settled on p for everything after s1). as for why wrath is sirius I personally believe anyways is because it's mother fortuna's body but NOT her inhabiting it. It could be an alter ego (DID) or just another posessor entirely similar to petalgouse being a spirit that could possess other bodies. I'm absolutely confident that mother fortuna's soul is a part of puck. But we won't get an answer to that any time soon with puck mia.

2024-10-09 18:15:58 +0000 UTCSo, yeah. Sirius is likely Fortuna. At the very least, she has to be related to Emilia because the silver hair and purple eyes with blue pupils are a familial trait. TBF, it was not as obvious in the novels. Even in the light novel illustrations, it was hard to tell the shape of her ears in a lot of them. It wasn't until the anime showed her that we could 100% state Sirus has elf ears. Now we can all wonder together how the anime will handle the fact that Al is like Subaru, since that is an obvious pretty obvious big plot point. Before Regulus was ever illustrated, Tappei wrote his looks as looking so average as to be completely forgettable. Which is why Emilia couldn't quite remember him last episode. Man has no charisma or prescense. He's supposed to give off total background character vibes. Why Otsuka, the illustrator for the novels, drew him with such a distinct style and outfit, is a mystery to everyone. Sirius doesn't know Subaru's name in the clock tower. That was an error in the subtitles. It was supposed to say Lusbel-kun, not Subaru-kun. As for why Regulus wants to marry Emilia, all I will say is that it's not a deep reason at all. Also, I'm not going to go into much detail because spoilers, but Regulus is not your standard husband by any means. His relationship with his wives is abnormal to say the least. I don't want to say more since I'm unsure how much of Regulus' lore the anime will cover.

2024-10-09 17:34:45 +0000 UTC@2:25 -- I feel like there's a chance that some information cut from the light novels could be introduced in the anime later on (i.e. plot points rearranged due to time constraints and/or lack of any immediate relevance to current story arc). A few years ago, I watched some of those "Scenes cut from the anime" videos, but I've since decided to stop and watch the anime blindly. That way, I'll be shocked if/when skipped moments are brought up later. Unfortunately, there are a lot of light novel readers who go overboard when sharing "fun facts" and changes to the story, so I've had to start being cautious while reading comments. I'm starting to think I need to read the light novels myself, just to be safe. In an ideal world, anime would have more flexibility with episode counts, run time, and budget. Of all the shows I've watched, Re:Zero has done the best with pushing the envelope, but they still don't have time to fit everything. I wish "cours" weren't a thing, cause I'd rather an anime that needs 29 episodes gets that, just as I'd hate for an anime that only needs 6 episodes to feel it needs to stretch the story out into 12 or 13. With a few exceptions, we're still getting cookie cutter 10 - 13 or 22 - 24 episode shows each season, sometimes to the story's detriment.
