2024-10-22 17:38:49 +0000 UTCI saw the author questioning why Nukumizu and Yanami won a weekly best couple award in the west after this episode aired since they aren't a couple on their Twitter account. There were Japanese fans responding with things like, "Western audiences don't understand friendship." But then there were other Japanese fans telling the author to stop pretending the two don't have a future couple dynamic. As an anime only, I was very confused if I am supposed to be expecting them to possibly be a canon ship or not after this episode aired.
