2024-11-02 15:44:16 +0000 UTCThe anime missed one thing of Ayanokoji's monologue there that reframes his mindset as vindictive. Not to say it isn't fcked up and manipulative cos it IS. But how it's said in the novel is very telling of his situation. "As long as I win I'll be okay." We have no idea about his past, and from what we've seen from his behavior when Horikita has slightly prodded about it, he does not want to bring it up. But it implies something dark that made him like this. Something had to have happened to him that has conditioned him to believe that as long as he gets insanely high results, he will be okay. The self preservation is crazy. So he will do anything at all costs to win. But he's also being threatened by the teacher to do it.

2024-11-01 13:11:39 +0000 UTCKaruizawa Kei is the head girl of class D, the blondie with attitude who is Hirata's girlfriend ^^ Also worth mentioning and kind of related to that is that season 1 had a lot of changes made from the source material and in season 2 they sort of course correct back a bit, so where and on who the show puts its focus may suddenly feel slightly different to the start.
