2025-10-27 13:03:07 +0000 UTCYes, the studio decided to split season 3 between the Fall 2024 anime season and the Winter 2025 season. The first half of season 3 ends next week on episode 8. It will resume on February 5th for episodes 9 to 16, which will complete season 3 at the end of March.

2024-11-13 18:50:32 +0000 UTCI'm an anime-only, so take this with a grain of salt, as this is my interpretation: You have to remember that from Al and everyone else's point of view, they don't know about all the lives Subaru has lived and suffered through in order to save Rem, Ram, Otto, Emilia, Garfiel, the townspeople, etc. This non-Subaru perspective (i.e. only seeing his successful lives strung together) is why Rem told Subaru when she confessed to him that he looked like a hero who never gives up (because she never saw all the lives where he failed and the people he cared about were killed). S1 E18 is the first time Subaru shows the damage his multiple lives cost him mentally and emotionally during a successful life. While I don't know how Al feels about Subaru, I think he was testing Subaru's resolve and making sure he wasn't naive and acting on the impulse to show off or be a hero (like when Subaru insulted the knights in S1 and got rekt by Julius). I think Al wanted to make sure Subaru understood the burden he would be taking on if he went through with this (i.e. being the icon of hope for the people), but we as the audience know Subaru has already been putting everyone's lives on his shoulders through Return by Death. I also just think Al doesn't see the world as brightly as Subaru does (I don't know why I think that, but that's the vibe I get), which is why Al's perspective is the way it is. Again, this is just my interpretation given what we've seen in the anime thus far :)

Otto can talk to mabeasts like the white whale, but their priority is more killing their prey than cooperating with him. The trans mutated people probably act similarly to mabeasts in which they can't be reasoned with.
