That's why everyone thinks Vi is dead, because no one knows what happened to her. Marcus didn't tell Silco about Vi probably because he didn't think it was important at the time, not knowing Vi's relation to Vander and thereby Silco. Vi was also never with the Fireflies, since she was in jail the whole time. The pink haired girl in episode 3 is just someone Jinx mistakes for Vi.
