Ugh, seeing Aqua getting as flustered as he did when he saw Akane really proved to me that it was never about Akane and always Ai. So it's hard for me to root for them because he's only flustered by who she's portraying and not who SHE is.
I get a lot of the Akane and Kana debate, but for right now I'm definitely team Kana for Aqua, because it definitely feels like Kana represents his present and future in light, vs, Akane keeping him in the past. Not that she's intending to, but that's what she signifies for Aqua.
