Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl
Added 2025-01-03 21:44:15 +0000 UTCthis. movie. hurt. me.
I remember responding to comments on the series on YouTube before and there was a comment that said if I plan to watch the movie. First of all, I had no idea there was a movie, secondly, the movie was no where to be found ???
Like I'm sorry, WHY IS IT NO WHERE?! WHY IS IT LIKE HIDDEN LIKE THIS? Anyways. I was super excited to react to it, I didn't think it would get me as hard as it did but it really did. I think watching Mai san really give her life up for Sakuta messed me up. It was something I truly didn't expect and didn't see coming. I know she loves him, but I wasn't aware of how much. It was also so hard to watch Sakuta in so much pain.
Shoko also was a polarizing character for me almost? I felt like the fact she roped Sakuta into this mess was somehow selfish in its own right? Like yes it worked out, but you put such an intense burden of choice on this man and to live with that if it didn't go right would be unbearable. Like can you imagine the sheer guilt he would have simply for breathing? I don't think I could handle that?

By the way! Just wanted to say (don't know if you ever look at old series) that there is 2 more movies CURRENTLY OUT that are direct sequels to this one/each other, if your interested in continuing Bunny Girl Senpai! Fair warning that "finding" them may be challenging. Movie #2 = Rascal Does not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out Movie #3 = Rascal Does not Dream of a Knapsack Kid Also next month is supposed to be the next content for Bunny Girl Senpai! So this is a great time to catch up and watch the other 2 movies! (and maybe rewatch the series/this movie as a refresher if you need it!)

2025-06-20 18:17:04 +0000 UTCI just wanna say that I do get where your heart is at. You did miss a little detail that I think colored your opinion of Shoko being a little selfish. So just to clarify, Shoko is actually the most selfless of all the characters here. The "Future" Shoko's entire purpose was to try to save Sakuta. You specifically mentioned how you thought she was selfish for telling him the truth of what was going to happen to him but the reality is that she *tried* to hide it and lie about it. During the scene where he is supposed to get hit by the car (and Mai does instead) he recalls when she was "planning" the date. She intentionally said the same location Mai was going to say later that day because she "knew" he would change the date location to avoid Mai/Shoko going to the same place. By making him change the location, she was hoping to prevent him from ever going to Enoshima - aka prevent him from being where he would die. Everything went wrong when - unfortunately - Sakuta, Futaba, and Mai all figured out that the heart was Sakuta's... implying that he was going to die. She didn't tell the truth until he confronted her about it. Quoting her: "You really are to smart, Sakuta." More proof is that later, when future Sakuta comes back and talks to Future Shoko, she remarks on that him existing/her existing means she inevitably failed in her mission (to save Sakuta's life in exchange for most likely her own). Even after future Sakuta and "present" Sakuta re-merge - when he is talking to Young Shoko (who we find out is now merged Young and Future Shoko) - she remarks on how she knows all of the trouble shes put him through and is going to make sure that she changes things so she doesn't make him go through all of that again. What she didn't account for though was that Mai and Sakuta would "dream" (remember) the craziness and do little things to inevitably change her future as well. But yeah... This movie fucked me up a lot to. So I totally get how emotional you were and it's hard to piece it all together (as is tradition for this show). I definitely was villainizing Shoko-san in my head the vast majority of my first watch as well. But in the end, the evidence is there that she actually kind of "intended" to die for Sakuta from the start. That's why she showed up at the beach to "heal his heart" (Aka when he was traumatized by Kaede's situation) from the get go. That's why she showed up on the eve of his death to try to prevent him from his fate. In that respect, she was quite valiant... especially for what is essentially just a young middle schooler. Just wanted to put my 2 cents in and defend Shoko. Honestly, you almost can't even blame any of the characters in the long run here. The situation was all together fucked up... How do you even make these kinds of choices, man?

2025-01-05 22:50:45 +0000 UTCidk if you knew faroh but there are 3rd party sites out there that have all anime releases and even the newest animes as they release per week. the one i use is "animepahe," its actually so good i use it to watch every anime. idk if you just use crunchyroll or whatever but this one is free to watch whatever. No need to struggle to find anime ever again. hope this helps.
