I feel a cold, soft sensation, and then there was faint building heat that I could feel through my fingertips. Then, I moved my thumb and caressed her lips. As I did so, the tembling of her body started to lessen, and eventually, her lips also stopped quivering as well. Normally, Ichinose would have rejected something like this. It wouldn't have been strange for her to have turned away from it. But she wasn't. -So strange... You really are a mysterious person... Ayanokouji-kun... -You might be right." That one truly felt kind of romantic.

2025-01-22 22:14:25 +0000 UTCI think there's still hope (have not read the LN, so this is my anime-only take) that he could grow to like Kei. Have to consider that he was literally offered to experience this "romance" and learn about it with Sato after she confessed, but he wasn't interested. He clearly knows Ichinose likes him, yet didn't do anything about it and actually just wanted to "deal the final blow" if she was ever close to breaking. There are others, yet he chose Kei and whenever we see a relatively "romantic scene" with them, of course it always ends with the dialogue of "this shall do it" or something along those lines, revealing that he's using her... BUT, I've noticed that unlike all the other times these internal dialogues happen with other characters, the ones about Kei and him always end with him wishing and pleading that he'll change and grow to like her/be fond of her/be someone who can have those feelings for someone. SO, with that in mind and my delusional KiyoKei shipping bias, I hope that there's still a chance it'll be real with her. ALSO THANKS FOR REACTING TO THIS!! I LOVE CLASSROOM OF THE ELITE AND YOUR REACTIONS TO IT! CAN'T WAIT TO BE BACK FOR SEASON 4!! YIPPEE

For example, the "I wouldn't mind being crushed by you" line, that you were pretty confused about, makes more sense after the first conversation Ayano had with Sakayanagi, which was basically completely cut from the anime. From that convo, we can gather that Ayano wishes for his own demise in a way, because that would mean his father would lose. I understand it's difficult to adapt a dialogue and monologue heavy novel into an anime, but they surely could've done a better job with characterizing Ayanokouji. Good on you for piecing things together and reaching interesting conclusions just from what was shown. Really enjoyed these reactions! :)

2025-01-22 15:54:01 +0000 UTCEven though he clearly is using Karuizawa to whatever extent that may be, he still chose her out of all the girls he knows full well are interested in him, and I'd wager out of all the people he knows she's the one he cares for the most. One can just hope that what little he is feeling is enough to let him grow and reciprocate rather than just casting her aside.

2025-01-22 14:39:07 +0000 UTCMy feelings for that last scene was conflicted. I feel sad for her and thinks she deserves better than who she fell in love with. But when I consider the guy she fell in love with, I can see he's unintentionally psychopathic and his monologue shows he genuinely wants to change. Also, he calls her "someone precious" 😨😱 Don't know if I want to call the scene sad or heartwarming, but I'll just leave it at that and see wherever the series decides to take us in season 4.

The LN make a better job at showing that Ayanokoji wants to change and express emotions than the anime. The LN shows how much he actually care for Kei but doesn't express it bc he doesn't know how to. The fact that he hopes he is smiling when hugging her is so heartbreaking.

In it, you can see clearly the internal conflict inside koji, as he literally pleads, for him to become someone who will genuinely care and protect karuizawa. But in the anime it just looks like he doesn’t care about it. Very unfortunate.
