I have a lot of respect for Fujimoto as a creator. The fact that he can create something so moving like "Look Back" or "Goodbye, Eri" while still making more messed up series like "Chainsaw Man" is kind of impressive.

2025-02-17 06:44:50 +0000 UTCI remember I was in an airport with my family when I heard that some lunatic had burned down a KyoAni studio, and dozens of people had died. I was gutted by it. I'm sure it's nowhere near actually knowing anyone who had died. Or even just being in the same industry as them. But even now, I remember some of the stories I grew up with whose creators were taken from us then. I sometimes watch a show they made, and wonder who did the animation or direction or whatever, and look it up, and learn we lost them then. It's always sad. I can't be sure, but I think this movie is kinda in part about that.
