The last episodes occur during the days/weeks prior to the Promised Day. So there is a little bit of skipping around a bit, jumps in time and place. Ed for instance travels from the North, down to the cabin where they captured Gluttony (which should be outside Central) and picks up Greed along the way, and then travels to his hometown, meeting up with Winry. So he's moving from place to place over the course of time, healing up from his injuries too. As for Al, he came from Liore, stopped by their hometown, and was supposed to head to the East and meet up with the forces of Grumen and the Briggs soldiers. But he got kidnapped by Pride along the way. Other characters (Scar, Marco, Mai, etc) are also seen moving around. Basically everyone is making their moves ahead of the Promised Day. There's not much time-skipping going forward, so it won't be as confusing.
