I come a bit late, but the fact he f*** up with the shredded abs joke was intentional. In the manga you have a bit of a passage like that where he consider taking Darkness's virginity, but then decide he doesn't want her to do that out of despair. She he escape the situation by pissing her off instead. I think it's a bit sad to have changed it in the anime. From my pov it was an important reveal of Kazuma's personality.
