Yeah, there is a slight mistranslation here that makes Hodgins look sus. The subtitles talk about him calling out another woman's name in bed, but that seems to be an error of the translators. It is apparently supposed to play out more like this: Cattleya: "Then buy me dinner sometime... Claudia." Hodgins: "Hey! Don't use my first name!" Cattleya: "I know your parents wanted a daughter, but it was cruel of them to saddle you with a girl's name. I for one, know I would feel strange if I had to cry out another woman's name in bed!" She is hardcore flirting with him, and teasing him about his feminine name, while throwing herself around his neck. And if you look closely at the scene and how her eyes flick to the side before doing it, she clearly does it because she just saw Benedict come into the hall. So Cattleya appears to be putting on a bit of a show (or staking out her romantic territory), because of seeing Benedict. Infer from that what you will.

I'm someone whose emotions tend to not be on the surface so much so I almost never cry to TV shows or films or anything - but when I watch you or other reactors who are more emotionally expressive it frees up my emotions too - often I'll watch something, then re-watch it with your reaction and only then have the cathartic expression. I'm not sure why this is - maybe it's seeing someone else cry to something lets me know that it's "OK to cry" (countering a childhood of being told otherwise - patriarchal family structures represent), but for whatever reason your unadulterated and unfiltered emotional responses can be both gift and blessing for people like us solely in what they show and demonstrate.

Gotta give credits to kyoto animation and everyone who worked on this project. They truly brought Violet Evergarden to life.
