2025-09-01 20:09:07 +0000 UTCabout ur question why they're tiptoeing around BL tags in this series, its because its actually presenting the difficulties of being queer in a small village, homophobia and internalised homophobia. u could kinda see "hikaru" as the personification of it, since yoshiki did say that hikaru didn't really tell him that he liked him or show any feelings, but "hikaru" proves otherwise by already having strong feelings for yoshiki:) its not straight up boys love, its queer horror story! there are theories going around that yoshiki also struggles with internalised homophobia and thats why he was glancing at the cross necklace, not only its hard for him as its already been bcs od where they live, people there are also christians and hes scared of not being accepted bcs homosexuality was called a disease
