2025-08-11 07:48:13 +0000 UTCSo to give a brief to people who don’t understand. Marina was the original timeline. Takopi went to Earth and met Marina first when she was guess, maybe highschool age. In this timeline Shizuka never died. Marina still bullied her in 4th grade, but she still tried to hang her self. Yet because Takopi wasn’t there and didn’t give her the unbreakable ribbon, the rope broke and she survived. Then shortly after she moved away. Which I’m assuming lead to Marina becoming an outcast and losing friends and her life got worse. Marina’s life lead to her killing her mum in self defence. Takopi went back to happy planet, but because he committed happy planet crimes, he gets his memories erased, yet refuses to be reborn and rewinds time with the clock. Instead of meeting Marina, he meets Shizuka and the current timeline happens. Then after Shizuka hits him, he regains all his past memories with Marina. The Azuma at the very end with the sparkle In one of his eyes is the Azuma that’s spoke with his brother and reconnected with him.

It makes a little more sense when you consider time travel and alternate timelines, but there is a lot going on in this episode and you need to do a lot of "reading in-between the lines" in this one. As for the hearts and stars, in most anime, heart eyes normally mean love or feelings of affection. Star eyes normally mean something like intensity or excitement. As far as I can tell, Takopi seems to be using the eyes to represent something similar to those two meanings.
