Haikyuu S2 Ep 5

NAH i dont appreciate the lack of belief in him and willingness to work on it

You can so totally see where Kageyama and the rest of the team is coming from though from their perspective. The team does not revolve around Hinata they all need to improve including Kageyama. So why should they practice something that feels and looks like it has so little chance of providing a boost in strength when Hinata, like the REST of the team can practice the basic of Volleyball (serve, block, spiking). He is by no means at this stage great at any of these areas and they're the BASICS. let alone a super hero quick that can score some points, maybe Hinata should improve on the game first. Im not gonna lie, i feel like the show explained it and showed you why the team felt like Hinata was in the wrong at the start. With hindsight, we know he can do it. Of course we think they're being unfair to him. But from the teams perspective at the time and ESPECIALLY Kageyamas, they were super fair and honestly i side with them even now. If they are supposedly stunting his "growth" (even so there are so many areas to improve on that he hasn't yet), he is stunting the teams if this continues and he keeps missing the ball or hitting other players. Hes not the only player on the team the others want to grow too and they cant if it goes on like this with the team dynamic (im only talking about this episode "5"). Normally don't comment but felt this was super unfair, and maybe u could use another perspective πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

i agree w u 100%. it not only feels like they're stunting his growth, but also making him feel bad/wrong for wanting to grow.

To be fair though there was no time and remember this is the last time the third years can play and they have a good chance of making it to nationals the coach has to think that as well. You know how tight nit this team is and if this didn't work then they could have been out like last time and hinata would be the one who would feel the worst of they lose because of his mistake plus the third years this is their last chance sk there is lot at stake today and hinata and Kageyama both are on opposite sides. No one is wrong here which sucks because me too personally I can see both sides. Plus Ukai as coach first need to see what's good for the team and in his eyes a quick which have less chance to work is not feasible for him at this time in his point of view

I never really got why they wouldn't let him try it out in practice matches of all things. I get the concern of him bumping into other players and potentially getting hurt, but there was no better time to do it than practice matches. Really felt like they had no faith in him and stopped him from getting better
