it was gifted to me by someone I have learned much from over the years.
this was her first purchase to make herself feel more feminine after working hard at her first job at the at the age of 16
having never felt beautiful (or rather like she could allow herself to be beautiful,) she purchased this and wore it to prove herself wrong, to find that beauty within herself through the exploration or clothing
needless to say I was moved and humbled by the handed down femininity, I was asked to honor the clothing by doing a shoot in it
this is what I could think of at the time, the way the pieces hug the body, the sheer quality of the satin, the complex quality of the working woman's need to be multifaceted and maybe even mythical,
that's what accumulated into the progression of this set
