Casper Gaming May Recap

Hi all, this is a new type of post meant to recap new developments Casper Gaming released in the previous month, in case you missed them.

New Releases

[CGMZ] Skill Levels - This plugin allows you to level up skills as they are used. You can also assign enemy skill levels. You can use the skill level in the skill formula to help determine its effectiveness. This also comes with a new Skill Level scene where you can see each actor's skill levels for the various skills they have. Link: https://www.patreon.com/posts/cgmz-skill-105274648

[CGMZ] Player Movement - This plugin gives more control over the player's movement in your game. With it, you can now allow your player to turn in place (by default to face a new direction, the player has to move one step in that direction). You can also reverse the player's movement inputs, to simulate some kind of confusion effect. You can create regions which will block the player. [CGMZ] Rumble - This plugin now supports rumbling only one controller instead of all connected controllers. It also had a debug feature added to it to enable logging of errors in playtests. Link: https://www.patreon.com/posts/cgmz-rumble-95290702

[CGMZ] Drop Tables - This plugin was updated to support custom currencies from [CGMZ] Currency System in enemy drop tables in battle. Link: https://www.patreon.com/posts/64381140

[CGMZ] Hidden Objects - This plugin was updated to allow you to show a different image in the object scene and the object window, which will help display large objects in the window as previously they would be scaled quite heavily which could affect image quality in the window. You can also now have a different object name before it is found and after it is found. The window had options added to change its tone, padding, windowskin, and back opacity. [CGMZ] Daily Rewards - This plugin was updated to allow the window to support more customization options including window tone, back opacity, padding, and windowskin. The scene background image now supports any folder. Color parameters now use the built in color picker UI in the plugin manager, but you can still use custom colors via [CGMZ] Infinite Colors integration. Link: https://www.patreon.com/posts/60561458

[CGMZ] Message System - This plugin had two new text codes added, one to pick a random string from a predefined list in the plugin parameters, and another to pick a random string from a predefined list in the plugin parameters and then remember that pick for the rest of the game. You can use these to generate random NPC names that are then remembered, or to generate a random code that is then remembered. These would differ between each playthrough but remain consistent in each playthrough once generated. Link: https://www.patreon.com/posts/86064608

Beta Updates

[CGMZ] Event Movement - This plugin was updated to add the option to pause event auto-movement while the message window is open. It also made comments case-insensitive, which should hopefully make the plugin easier to use. Link: https://www.patreon.com/posts/48715865

[CGMZ] Map Name Window - This plugin had options added to customize the window tone, windowskin, background opacity, and padding. It can now resize images to fit the window. Since window size is variable and not always easy to calculate, it had a debug option added to report window dimensions so you should now be able to easily get the dimensions you should make your images that fit the window perfectly. [CGMZ] Battle Command Window - You can now show a background image behind battle commands, instead of the default slightly transparent black rectangle. Commands can also have an icon aligned separately from the command text. A debug option was added to report the dimensions of the command rectangle, which should make it easy to figure out the dimensions for any background image you want to make for your commands. The code was also optimized to parse your command parameters only once on game start instead of each time the command is drawn. Link: https://www.patreon.com/posts/72041274

Free Updates

[CGMZ] Core - The core plugin was updated to allow my other plugins to animate only specific regions of a window, tracking for the last used gamepad index, a more customizable gauge class, and the ability to get a window as a bitmap instead of a window object. [CGMZ] Crafting - This plugin received a minor update to allow you to disable autodiscovery on a per-recipe basis, as well as the option to change the width of the multicraft window. Link: https://www.caspergaming.com/plugins/cgmz/crafting/

Other

There were also numerous polls this month, including a poll for the next Small Plugin to be created, and an ongoing poll for the next Standard Size plugin to be created. Free plugin updates had a poll this month as well. I added a new type of poll to determine the next [BGM] asset that gets created as well, which currently ends tonight.
