catching up to the manga was the best decision I made and I still watch the anime but enjoy it differently

I was trying so hard to stay faithful to anime-only, but I'm about to say F it and just catch up with the manga at this point. I feel like my hype for this story is fading with each week. It might just be my ADHD, but I dont see how people can retain a certain level of hype with the tiny amount of content Toei gives us each episode. I understand that the pacing for VP's speech may have been slow in the manga, but adding Toei's terrible padding ontop of an already slow pace is just diabolical! xD

Toei makes everything slow motion when it’s supposed to be fast paced. It’s so weird. I was really looking forward to bonney going full nika, and they adapted it terribly.
One piece fan base is the only one that attacks others for criticizing the anime. Other anime that have bad adaptations like berserk and kingdom are direct in saying it.

After this, many people checked back and there was a lot of things which relate to what vegapunk said here
Water 7 and wano: it was mentioned before that the citizens of water 7 used to live further beneath their current sea level, until the water rose and they had to abandon it.
Rayleigh: rayliegh likes money, and he frequently gambles to get it. His profession just so happens to be, a ship coater. As someone who knows the truth of the world, he chose to make a business out of helping people travel underwater. Like he knew there would be future demand for his craftsmanship if the world sinks.
Crocus: another member of the Roger pirates, lived inside a whale, keeping him sheltered even when laboon went underwater. He knows the truth, and chose to live in a dwelling which is impervious to being submerged underwater.
Long ring long land: Tonjit revealed that the island he lives on is actually ring shaped, but it’s submerged for most of the year, leaving only individual hilltop islands to be seen which are poking up from the island’s original geography. Meaning a long time ago, the island was most likely in full view. Just like water 7.
The Noah: Noah’s ark is tied to the story of the ship carrying life for safety from the world sinking.
There’s a really good video on this by the book/manga YouTuber Merphy Napier called “the world is sinking and the evidence is everywhere”. She looks into every little thing like you guys (a good thing).
