Question for all Patrons
Added 2018-04-30 03:58:18 +0000 UTCHi there,
So I'm still pretty new to Patreon and don't know the best way to maximize the Patreon experience for everyone here. If anyone has any suggestions, or sees 'good practices' that other people do on there Patreon, please let me know.
I was thinking about sharing some behind scene photos or images from the video that's coming out, but don't want to 'spoil' any surprises. I myself avoid movie trailers as much as I can, so not sure if some people want to see a 'spoiler' photo from any videos I'm working on.
I really want to make this the best I can, so let me know.
New video comes out tomorrow!!!! :)

Thanks for the advice everyone! :)

A given number of days later they remove the paywall and also make it available on free sites. This means that people donating to you get to see it first, while everyone else eventually gets to eventually see it too.

2018-05-01 01:18:28 +0000 UTCAlternate takes and extended scenes released after the video would be nice. Should the genie be innocent or mischievous? Maybe play around with a concept and release scenes that didn't make the final cut. I'm not sure about pre-release behind the scenes material. Not-spoilery but still compelling can be tricky.

2018-05-01 01:05:25 +0000 UTCfirst off congrats on passimg $300 on patreon. you were just barely above $100 when I joined. one channel i follow on YouTube is 3d printing nerd. he has a patreon and he ends each show with "high five", which is his signal that the camera is off for free viewers and theres bonus content for patreon backers. i think you could maybe extend the story, make an alternate ending, or just show a blooper reel. its one thing to remind viewers that you have a patreon in the comments, its another to make it part of the video. lot of people dont read descriptions.
2018-04-30 12:59:52 +0000 UTCBehind the scenes photos and such would be nice. To avoid spoilers you can post them after the video comes out. Furthermore, on the YouTube page you can post a link to your Patreon page, telling people to go here to see the pictures. I would suggest making most of them freebees. That way you encourage people to check out your Patreon page. Also, if you can think of something, then post a second version of the video with something changed behind the Pay Wall. For instance, in "What Not To Say To A Gamer Girl", don't have the guy change when she casts the spell. Instead, have her hands glowing as she heads back to the couch, she does something magical with one hand and the guy pops up on her couch, he's startled, then shouts "NO" as she gestures with the other hand, he turns into a sandwich. You could also change the final line here. For instance. in this case she could say "I really don't know why guys want this. Why would anyone want to be a sandwich?"
