Welcome to EPISODE 80! This was another fun episode for me as the actor came to the table with an interesting concept, what if the Leaper landed in someone famous. I hadn't really thought about doing a celebrity episode, but I'm happy to say it gave us new things to explore in the series, which is always refreshing. So I hope you enjoy it!
The unfortunate news is I've had a lot of bad luck with casting this year. Both Iona and 'Nikki' finished their episodes right away and were both a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately I've had a number of people dropout this season and a few others that needed extra time to film, which has brought everything to a screeching halt. So for this episode we don't see the next leap. I've had Nikki ready to go for over a month and I'm still now sure when the next one will be done, so I'm just posting it. I have also cast some new actors and am hoping to get back into the rhythm again soon.
On a separate note, I have started toying with the idea of filming something new. I am currently 'day dreaming' about filming with someone in person again, if I feel safe about it, and/or doing some other remote project...something short, possibly with one of the actors I've worked with on Quarantine Leap. I have one actor I've talked to that interested, just need something simple for the video. :)
So hope you enjoy the episode! I've received some footage from actors, so I hope to post a new episode some time soon. :)

Thank you so much! Working with Nikki was great. She originally pitched the idea of a celebrity being kidnapped and held in a basement, but it was a bit to close to Abigail's second episode with the Dentist, so we changed it. I can't tell you how much I love when actors come to the table with a good concept, but I can also tell stories about actor's who've had some bad ideas, too. :) I'd say someone at the restaurant picked up the dinner and probably bought 'Nikki' and her friends some drinks. The episode was already starting to run a bit long, so we didn't add anything like that, but it would have been fun. The first interview as fun and was about half questions I wrote in the script, but I also encouraged Nikki to come up with her own questions. It was also edited down a bit for timing. The nudity issue was added to give the Leaper an 'awkward dilemma' to deal with. I was encourage the actors to give the Leaper something 'uncomfortable' to deal with. "Nikki" was really up for the challenge of this episode and really got things done. As I've mentioned, she was finished right away and I could have posted this a month ago, but the other actors this season have been either really slow or have dropped out. Not exactly sure why, but it's slowed everything down and has been very frustrating. I'm hoping things improve soon. :)

2024-05-03 14:43:17 +0000 UTCFantastic episode, James! As always :) Did the Leaper at least get some free drinks after the movies or did he get to enjoy any other upsides of being famous? Or did he just experience some of the downsides, like no privacy and getting approached by all kinds of people on the street? I love the first interview scene. I guess it's not so easy answering questions about yourself if you don't know anything about yourself :D And the way the nudity issue played out was great! Really great ideas in this episode, and Nikki did an amazing job of portraying the Leaper. I really hope that you'll find more people with her talent to work with. I'll definitely be here waiting for the next episode, no matter how long it's going to take :)

2024-05-02 21:59:17 +0000 UTCThanks Gert, I appreciate your (and everyone else's) patients. I had a number of really cool episodes lined up and written for actors who ended up disappearing. Lots of new locations, which unfortunately didn't come to pass, even had an Antartica episode lined up which really hurt when that didn't happen. I have one actor (and I could probably get others) interested in doing a remote video, I just need to come up with something that can be done remotely with two to three people. Side story, before covid I was working on doing an anthology movie with Status Change being the first story of like 5 or 6 in the movie. I had pitched the actor one of the stories I'd planned, but it requires like 6 or more people and is a bit to complicated to do remotely. I started working on that script and would love to film it some day! But back to the actor, she's couldn't do something that complicated, but is up for something simpler. And I don't say which person incase they don't end up doing it. :)
