I also wouldn’t it be funny if he gave the shrink depression by showing our world in all of its bleak destructive glory.

@Planetace agreed, it almost makes me say that Lee should be removed/executed immediately. The fundamental perspective shift he brings to the relatively ideal Pokémon world could corrupt it entirely. He’s already done some damage by referencing compound interest, multiple banks, exploitative corporations, and other destructive ideas which are unheard of in the Pokémon world. Also I’m wondering if the Pokémon shrink will be psychic. Considering it’s a known trait of both humans and Pokémon it would make sense that a large number of psychics would be in the mental health business. Understanding and empathizing with people is a lot easily when you. Can see their mentality or feel their emotions, when you know if someone is lying to you or not. Etc. Just an idea.

That picture alone was worth the wait

Birch breaking down is totally realistic, imagine hearing of a world where humanity, without the presence of Pokemon, *weaponised* a force of nature and literally destroyed everything for no apparent reason. Talk about a horrible dystopia.

The second and follow up about humans being cognitively stunted in weaponry because of Pokeman is something I can easily follow — I though of this myself and it easily makes sense why, no point in making guns when a common bird can deal just as much damage. But at the same time, the Pokeworld is actually pretty tame compared to our own. Pokemon operate under a shared culture and live in harmony with a very idealistic humanity, resources are abundant and everyone hardly squabbles most of the time. Furthering this, poke-humanity might not just be more pacifistic in mentality, but very developed physically. Surely human-kind evolved from pokemon at some point? They must be very hardy to even manage to get to their technologically developed point, probably able to sustain heavy damage and walk away from it.

This was an excellent chapter. I enjoyed it immensely.

Firstly, sorry to hear about you leaving trouble. Hope things get better for you. Secondly, really enjoyed the chapter. I feel it really highlights how different Lee is from the Pokémon worlds humans. The fact that people from the Pokémon world can’t even comprehend the idea of using nuclear energy as a bomb shows a fundamental difference in their cognition than our worlds humans. I wonder if the presence of Pokémon has stunted their innovative capabilities, no real reason to improve technology or create better weapons of Pokémon fill that role after all. To further emphasize my second point, I’m really liking the fish out of water aspects of this story. It makes sense that Lee would be finding exploitable aspects of attacks and making new moves rather than a native of that world if the second paragraph is true. It also explains Zinnias behavior. If the humans of the Pokémon world are fundamentally different then a difference of attitude and how to act and interact is pretty understandable. Lastly I’m actually looking forward to Lee’s interactions with a shrink. One of the things you do with a shrink is describe everything about yourself so the shrink can understand enough to help you, which is going to be a lot more involved considering Lee comes from a different world. There is a lot of context and history there that is going to come out and the fundamental difference in perspective will be highlighted pretty well. I’m hoping that at least one of the chapters will be primarily focused on One of Lees sessions (like an interlude). Or maybe a small segment of each chapter. Something to think about.

Thank you! I am sorry things have been hard on you, and hopefully you have enough time to take care of yourself.
