The First Day of Summer

The First Day of Summer The First Day of Summer

I am an absolute sucker for background details in crowd scenes, and you deliver here. Would definitely love to accompany Juno to this market - or at least go to it on my own and take in the sights. (And yeah, the big ladybear in the background is a reason I might want to go shopping soon!)

Jakerabbit

I love that lion cloth belt thing you do for her. I think that should be a real life thing.

Keleaux

That works. I'm going for a dry-season look, just as long as it doesn't come across as smog or anything...

Kalahari

I do want this place to feel clothing-optional, and I think there's a ton of interesting space between fully dressed and fully nude. Which might make the full nudity feel even more deliberate when it shows up.

Kalahari

As much as I want to dump tons of detail into the background, that can get pretty distracting. And I don't want to rely on blurring the BG if I can help it. So it's good to hear the detail contrast is working out in this one :)

The more I've drawn this combo, the more I like it

Gorgeous! I love the composition and the variety of outfits in this piece.

Sutter

I love colours of this art. And short shorts looks very interesting with loincloth)

Rasik

The blue of her shorts and the background definitely help to break up the colors.

A lovely pic of Juno! And the little market in the background of this setting is nice! Looks like a very cozy place!

Gotta get the good stuff before the tourists do ๐Ÿ‘. The sky fits. I'm imagining there being dust in the atmosphere so a hazy less blue makes sense, especially for a busy summer market.

I adore how this turned out! ๐Ÿงก One thing I noticed that I love is the level of detail in the foreground vs the background. The detailed texture on the fabric in the foreground for example vs the background fading out creates a really lovely depth of field!

DeltaRedWolf

Juno is beautiful as always, the warm colour palette is lovely and I adore how natural you make the mixed levels of dress. From fully dressed through topless to completely naked itโ€™s all good!

Stewart

Came out lovely!

Greg

The muted sky and far background read to me as dustier air
