Switching to Linux.

Hey there guys, how are you all doing?

As always, thank you so much for supporting me. I noticed some of you are having issues with passwords on zip and rar files, so I will make sure the next passwords have no special characters, this should fix the issue for literally anyone who's having problems. If you can't unzip your file, tell me, I have a new link with new files with the new password I can also provide to you.

Now about something a bit more serious:

Windows 10 is losing support, and I don't have the spare money for another year of updates, and Windows 11 is just... Frankly, nothing against anyone who uses it but holy hell that thing is bloated, slow, full of bugs, every update can kill your machine for no reason, with a lot of AI slop and a huge AD problem. Using windows nowadays is like entering a porn website without anti-virus and no ad-blocker. You will live the very same experience you would back in 2005 with windows XP when you "accidentally" entered the website with a hub at the end of the name and suddenly there were at least 300 popups of ads on your screen besides a lot of malware. Nowadays the new generation don't need to miss click in weird websites to live that, Windows 11 is that for you.

I can't just leave windows, there ARE some software I need to use that I will probably not find a replacement soon or won't be able to emulate via wine. So I have a huge task ahead of me:

I need to install Windows 11 with only 100GB of my SSD allocated to it and that's it, only for emergency usage and for testing of the game since I know a lot of you use Windows, considering the old Suggested corrections of the past tables gave me 99% of Windows OS forms, I need to make sure the exports works.

But then, essentially, 250GB goes for Zorin OS, a good system based on Ubuntu LTS with a good UI that I won't have to spend hours changing to make me happy, and probably good enough, and the rest of the SSD will go for regular files, in case I need to update my system, I won't lose anything. Either way, from now on I will mostly use Linux, unless Microsoft creates a Windows 12 PRO+ where we can pay more (only once) to have a clean system, which I doubt it will happen ever again, Linux will be my home system.

Godot fully works on Linux, I already have all the builds and exports necessary for it to work there, and overall, I will only waste quite a lot of time moving software around and installing what I need. So for the next two or three days I may take a bit longer to answer you all, and I'm really pissed with Patreon app, one of you sent me a message I was only able to see nine hours later because I was NOT notified. I try to open here as much as possible, at least three times a day but if I'm asleep, well...

Either way, I'm switching, and frankly if you're okay with trying new things, switch too! I already use Ubuntu on my work laptop, and frankly I barely miss Windows while using it. Yes some software will be a pain to replace, that's why I will still have Windows to use every now and then, but I'm tired of blue screens that makes no sense, I'm tired of system not booting, I'm tired of ads, I'm tired of AI, I'm tired of updates that can break my system. I miss Windows 7, and especially the times. 2010 was really a golden age to work with Windows, and to use the Internet. Yeah I'm old. Sorry about that.

Anyway, that's it for now, the next build of Just Friends as always will be released on day 28-29, it will contain Johan's Routes, and I will focus more on his routes. I really wanted to kind of reboot the Day 0 of the game to literally make sure all characters meet you on Day 1 but the problem with that is that I would ended having to re-write every single start of the four days for each character. I have no idea if I'm ready to do that... I would also like to buy new designs for them, change a few things, you know, make them more unique and unique for the game too, especially the Tiger, but the dog too. Keep the colors but change a few things etc. But that would cost a lot of money and I spent all my savings already with Johan's expressions and sprites haha. But ignore that, I doubt I would be able to do those changes either way, it's too much work, and I work on JF alone, I have no main artist to share the burden with, so it's hard to deal with any big changes.
