Mortality script
Page 1
- Large panel (possibly whole page) sky is really light, bottom is really dark. Bodies on the land in between
- With heaven above and hell below. It is left to the mortals on earth to choose a side to serve. Mortals fear gods, what greater purpose would their inferior life serve?
- I thought I understood this.. I thought I understood everything that was worth understanding.
- Close up horizontal panel of two men on field, centaur helping a demon who’s been hurt.
- I never thought someone so insignificant would catch my interest.
- Small close up panel of face (optional)
- But thinking you know everything… can get pretty boring.
Page 2
- Small square panel of clay helping the demon drink,
- “It will be alright friend, just hang on.”
- Small square panel of suddenly over dramatic lighting, demon looks scared
- You… you wear the armor of heaven's army.”
- Horizontal thin panel, with clay in foreground, silhouetted, bright light with lots of eyes and wings in background, takes up whole background. Demon runs off in shock
- But you’re helping an enemy.”
- Large panel with seraph filling the background, clay silhouetted in the center, small.
- “why?”
Page 3
- Horizontal panel, clay shielding his eyes.
- “Forgive me, did I do something wrong?
- Open panel, Seraph floating above clay.
- “It’s not a sin but it is… senseless.
- “He was hurt! I couldn’t just leave him there!
- Horizontal panel on opposite side of page than first. Close up of clay in heavy lighting looking curious.
- “Why would you help someone you will be facing on the field later.
- “why?
(possible panel to pause to think)
- Square panel of Clay looking happy.
- “Because!
- “That’s not an answer…”
Page 4
- Horizontal panel, clay from the side, thinking.
- “I don’t know. It’s something inside me. He’s an enemy, but he’s still a person, so he’s important. So even if I ended up getting seperated from my troop and lost in a place I know nothing about.
- Square panel, repeat of previous page.
- “I had to do it.”
- “You’re still not making any sense.
- Horizontal panel, Seraph floating close to Clay, filling up more of the panel than him.
- “Don’t people usually help each other?”
- “Mortal’s helping other Mortal’s is common enough. Helping their enemy is something new to me.”
- “But you mortals have done many senseless things I can not understand…”
- Same, but the eyes focus on clay.
- “I can teach you.”
- “Teach me?”
- “Sure, they say you never truly understand someone until you walk a mile in their horseshoes.
- Square of clay looking embarrassed.
- “And I’ve got quite a few miles to get walk to get back to my troop by now, so there’s plenty of time.
- Small panel of clay thinking.
- “Though you’re so bright, it might be kinda hard to travel together…”
- Horizontal panel (open) of clay being blown back by a bright light.
Page 5.
- Horizontal panel, mass of eyes and feathers.
- “Are you implying that you, a meer mortal, who hasn't seen a fraction of time and space that I have, is capable of teaching me?
- Horizontal panel on the left side of page, light fading away, clay’s eyes looking downward, feathers flying around.
- “Why not, I don’t have anything better to do.
- Horizontal panel with clay looking at Seraph, who’s body is outside of panel, going down page.
- “Will this form suffice?”
- “Well I can look at it without my eyes burning, so yeah!”
- Open panel, above shot, the light from above fading to be lighter. Clay and Saraph walking together.
- My first frivolous choice would end up being the last one I ever made as an angel...
Page 6
Top: “so the centar, over our time together, attempted to teach me what it meant to be “mortal”
Page divided into 4 sections
- Clay and Seraph seated over a fire. Seraph opening his stomach to eat.
- “You’re supposed to taste the food when you eat it.”
- “It all ends up in the same place”
- “But you’re missing the best part!”
- Seraph eats his fork, opposite angle of last panel.
- “”Also we don’t usually eat the silverware.”
- “So many rules…”
- Seraph and clay playing cards, Seraph is holding all the cards in the background.
- “This was the most direct path to victory.”
- “But it was over so quickly.
- Both looking at each other portrait
- “Are you sure you’re angry because you’ve lost?”
- “I can’t tell if you’re being smug or not.”
- From behind so you can see paper and the background. Both drawing a map of the area. Clay’s is stylized, Seraphs is a copy of the background.
- “A map might be difficult to read if its so realistic like that. Stylization can help.
- “Weird…”
- Both showing their pieces to each other. Clay looks tired.
- “I think yours is objectively confuseding, however.
- “Yeah…”
- Both laying down in the dark, Seraph in the crook of Clay’s legs.
- “Sleeping wastes a lot of hours you could be using for other things.”
- “Heh, we don’t really have a choice.”
- Closer shot, Seraph turning over
- “This is the best thing you’ve showed me. I think I’ll nap for a few decades”
- “Please don’t
- Long panel at bottom, both walking next to each other. Camera at the height of Seraph, Clay out of shot, flinching.
- “What about sex.”
Page 6
- Vertical thin panel, Seraph looking at clay who is bright red.
- Open panel, Seraph flying around Clay in the middle.
- “That’s part of being a mortal too, isn’t it?”
- “I mean, without it, you wouldn’t have more mortals, would you?”
- “I never knew you could be this quiet.”
- Square panel, close up of clay’s face, at the end of last panel.
- “Look… It’s just. I believe....”
- Square panel of Clay, flustered.
- “T-that's someone you talk about with someone important to you!”
- Copy panel of Seraph’s stone face.
- “I’m not important?”
- “What! No!
- “You said everyone was important.”
- “They are!”
- Vertical panel, Both in shot, walking together.

- Horizontal of Seraph walking at eye level
- “How is it different for everyone if everyone does it?”
- Repeat of previous panel, but Seraph runs into clay.
- “I can’t participate anyway without risking-oof”
Page 7

- “Ah, I suppose we’re getting close to your troop.
- Open panel, both from behind, fires in distance.
- “They… they said we would be doing the Lord's work… I thought we were doing something good…
- “Mortal lives are short, some are just willing to give that time to their gods. It’s not something to get distracted
- Thin panel, Clay in upper half, overshadowed. but camera trailing down to Seraph, looking surprised.
- “Don’t say that!”
- Square panel, Clay gross crying.
- “Just because their lives are short, doesn't mean they weren’t important! It’s not the length but the purpose you give your life that matters!”
- Horizontal longer panel, clay running off camera, throwing down armor. Seraph reaching
- “And this isn’t what I want my life to be!”
- Thin vertical panel of Seraph holding his chest, a small light coming from it.
Page 8
- Open panel, Seraph clutching chest with a glowing light from center
- I’ve lived for countless years, but his words lingered in my min. Have all those years had any purpose to them? Was I just existing to exist. Bored and complacent to do what I was told.
- Horizontal panel, Clay is the only thing lit in the darkness. On his back, looking forward.
- He will die in a few years, and I would live on without him. I’ve experienced more in these few weeks than I ever have. The thought of going back to the mundanity without him gave me an uncomfortable and painful feeling in the pit of my soul.
- “so...
- Large horizontal panel. Seraph sitting on Clay’s stomach, above his crotch.
- “Thats whay I want you to have sex with me… So I'll lose my wings to sin and become mortal.”

- Horizontal panel, thinner and to the side, Clay cupping Seraphs face and kissing his forehead, seraph looks surprised, word panel in left half.

- Repeat, bits start to look more realistic.
- “Everything is tingling… I...
- Long Vertical panel. Seraph is silhouetted in foreground, Clay in shot, straining, his legs locked with the other.
