His demeanor changed drastically after the loss of his partner and he struggles to keep his footing amidst the pressures of solving the case of The Strandherd Ripper and putting the pieces of his life back together. Withdrawn and distant, his determination and haste in solving the case causes problems for both himself and his new partner. Losing control of his emotions and lashing out when things aren't going smoothly. He is a shadow of his former self.
