July sticker theme!

Uromastyx! I’ve never drawn these guys before, but i think they’re cool! Look at the funky little turtle faces~ They’re the theme for July.

I’m going to be introducing the pin club tier with this set as well! It’ll be limited to 20 slots and the pins will be wooden. I know enamel pins are more popular, but I personally think it’s kind of a waste to have the molds made for a pin design that is only going to be used once. It may be worth while for bigger artists with lots and lots of pin patrons, but for me, I think small batch wooden pins will be a better way to go!

Aaa thank you for all the info!! I only know very basic info on uros so it's always great to learn more!

They get a reputation for being calm, but in almost all cases it’s because they’re a bit too cold! They function best at a temp above ours so a happy Uro will always feel pretty toasty. In the wild they famously climb acacia trees to eat the flowers! I can’t have one since mine eventually passed away because I live in Ohio and keeping a gigantic enclosure hot and dry enough in the house ended up being a fire hazard that I just cannot justify. But I love them, and love how the Mali Uro babies start out sand colored and then gradually become black and neon yellow shed by shed.

If you want some really good images, aridsonly is the best uromastyx breeder since Doug Dix (who started uro captive breeding in the USA and revolutionized their care) had a family crisis and retired. He’s on patreon and Instagram and is keeping and breeding lots of incredible desert lizards who were previously almost all imports.

These are my favorite species of reptile! They also have the hottest recorded functional body temperature of any vertebrate. They’re toasty chunky babies! They can also do an extremely cool thing where instead of burning fat for energy and discarding the water, they discard energy and use the water. Many never drink in their whole lives and, in fact, have a bad habit of aspirating or getting tail rot when bathed. They’re Sahara desert specialists, and avoid predators by being out during the hottest part of the day that nothing else can survive!

Omg so cute!!! I love the doodle where it's smooshed flat on the ground 💚

Aw, I absolutely love these guys 💜 (both the species and the doodles :3)
