Added 2024-10-27 00:58:37 +0000 UTCi’ve just finished putting the kids to bed when i find you already nestled in our room, scrolling through halloween candy options on your laptop. you give me that little smile as i crawl in beside you, and i catch on right away to what you're up to. clever as always, shopping online to snag the best deals and make sure we get the candy we actually want. together, we scroll through endless sweets, debating each choice and narrowing down the list, laughing over the ones we secretly love and the ones we know the kids will trade. halloween is such a fun time of year, not just for them but for us too. there’s something so cozy about planning it all together late at night, just you and me, getting ready to make a little extra magic for them and ourselves this october.

For example, if they were to be diabetic we could have sugar free candy or something of the sort. I once bought a variety bucket of Hershey's chocolate candies and the only candy that didn't taste of vomit was Reese's peanut butter cups. Everything else tasted first of sugar then vomit. They're raspberry and salty licorice which is a very classic swedish candy flavour combo ... you would fucking hate it though. 😂❤️ You should try the pink and light blue ones (bubblegum) and the yellow and beige ones (banana and cola).

We have like pick and mix style candy bars in every grocercy, 7Eleven, convienece store and you can buy a kilo for less than £10. That's what it SHOULD cost. Por qué no los dos? 😈 Halloween candy is too chocolate-centered. Allocate that to the full/king-sized candy bars. The rest gets the fun stuff like nerds, flavored mini kit kats, gummy bears, pop rocks. i did see that they're at least selling green "ghoul" variations of snickers and twix so maybe simply replacing the traditional candy with fun variations is a move too. I like the idea of making individual variety bags so everyone can get everything but idk if that takes away from the hand grabbing experience for kids. Also, giving candy to the parents is a great rule. Sure this will all cost a little more, but we'd be the coolest house on the block!!! 🥹

It’s pretty awesome haha. And then a local family-owned diner gives out free freshly made mini pizzas 😋

That said, we live on a farm in the middle of nowhere and almost never have any trick-or-treaters come to our house.
