the credits roll, and as the movie ends, the room falls into a quiet stillness. you are still lying in my bed, looking far too comfortable to move. when i glance at the clock, i realise how late it has gotten and remind you that your bed is just in the room next door. but you stay where you are, a small smile on your lips as you say you do not want to leave. i can hardly argue, not when i secretly love the way your presence fills this space. as we settle under the covers, the quiet hum of the night seems to pull us back to that one night we both remember so clearly. the memory lingers between us, unspoken but felt, as we lie here, closer than we probably should be. but in this moment, nothing feels more natural.
