Funnily enough, this is kinda what it's like to name a kid in my experience. People are bound to have different opinions and associations to names. A name that you think is beautiful might remind your partner of a school bully, or a creepy relative or a childhood cartoon character. Like an ex of mine wanted to have all Irish names and I wanted to have only family names. So we decided that we were going to have twelve kids because we couldn't compromise. That relationship didn't last. 😂😅🙈 The more people you include in the process of picking a name the more opinions you're going to get. It's all about respectful communication and compromise.✌️😇

People should be allowed to say if a joke has gone to far. Has nothing to do with loving yourself enough. Telling someone to take a joke that they are made uncomfortable by and hurt by does not make a safe space for anyone but those who are belittling.

Just making sure we are on the same page. It's not the difference of opinion that's causing the issue. It's making fun of someone's very valid choice. Everyone is free to like whatever name they choose, but they do not need to belittle those who's choice they don't agree with, which is what is happening.

We are all adults here. If someone doesn’t like a name, for personal reasons or aesthetic reasons, that is perfectly valid. If someone does like a name, that is also perfectly valid. Differences of opinion are perfectly fine. So much of the beauty in this world exists because of how much diversity exists across human consciousness. Love others enough to be considerate of their feelings. Love yourselves enough to be unbothered when someone disagrees with you. There is no need for drama, and there is no place for it here. K puts a lot of work and a lot of love into his content and the places around it. He deserves better, and he should not have to deal with something like this. He chose to create a space for adults. It is meant to be a safe space. For everyone. That doesn’t mean “if something is harmless but I don’t like it, it shouldn’t be allowed to exist here,” one way or another. It means that everyone is expected to be kind and considerate, while allowing for valid and harmless differences in how we see the world, how we feel about things, and how we express ourselves. I’m always happy to see others protect each other and this space. But a safe space for everyone is meant to be safe for everyone, otherwise protectiveness of a safe space for everyone becomes possessiveness of a space someone sees as their own personal safe space, and not safe for others at all.
