Added 2025-02-10 22:43:23 +0000 UTCi hear you before i see you, the soft shuffle of your footsteps as you sneak up behind me. a second later, your arms drape over my shoulders, warm and familiar, your chin resting on top of my head as you lean in. i know exactly what you are doing, but i don’t stop you. you press closer, eyes flicking to the screen, and before i can protest, you slip around and settle into my lap like it was always the plan. i let out a slow breath, shaking my head, but we both know i was never going to make you move. you are impatient, always have been, and i was never good at telling you no. so i let you linger, let you steal a few glances, watching the way your lips curve when you recognize a song.
this playlist is for you. every song picked with you in mind, every lyric something i want you to hear, something i want you to feel. i wonder if you can tell. if you know how much thought i have put into this, how much of us is hidden between the lines. you stay there, warm against me, making it harder than it should be to send you away. but i need to finish this, and we both know if you stay any longer, you will see too much. so i tighten my arms around you, just for a second, before finally nudging you up. you hesitate, just long enough for me to wish you would stay.
