you're finally home. dinner is done, the shower is off, the house is quiet, and for the first time in a week, everything feels right again. i pull you closer without thinking, like my body has been waiting for this, needing you here, needing to feel you against me. i missed you, more than i could even put into words, more than i let myself admit while you were gone. you hold onto me just as tight, like you feel it too, like you do not want to let go either. we should be sleeping, but i do not care, not yet, not when i finally have you back, not when you are finally where you belong.
