2019-10-20 06:32:22 +0000 UTC@garrett gee i guess i see it this way to me when i first watch 1982 blade runner i found it kind of cliche and a bit boring but the more i thought about that the more i realized the reason i found the movie predictable/bit boring is because i was fed a diet of movies that were inspired by blade runner and it as no longer "ground breaking" to me.

This is my first time watching Cowboy Bebop and I really don't understand why it's so popular, Isn't champloo by the same creators and its leagues better imo. I didn't miss the theme of dealing with your past I just think a lot of shows do it better. Maybe this show was just past my time since everything I have seen thus far has been pretty predictable, and I might have skewed myself against it because people constantly say its one of the best so maybe I just hyped it up, I was expecting FMA or One Piece or Trigun or Death Note quality story and characters and this show is not that.

To lose your memories is to lose yourself, Faye is the most interesting character for me and her story goes so well with the setting of the series as well

It's effective and simple character development that leaves you and the characters thinking about where you've been and where you are. If you can't appreciate it for what it is then I think you've missed one of major themes of the series: people's pasts and how they deal with them.

2019-10-15 14:46:33 +0000 UTCAaron has a point with the "is this me?" question. The dub actually cut out a line, right after Faye says she doesn't remember, where she asks herself that very question. Don't know why they did it.
