Fun Video Facts - Cyberpunk 2077 Review

Hey all. Glad I could do this for the second time on here. Attached at the bottom is the full thumbnail. I couldn't use AI upscaling to make it look good at 1920x1080, so it will remain at its original resolution. This is because the concept art that was used to make the thumbnail is simply too small.

**Intro**

-So, the intro was originally using the E3 trailer music for CP2077 - "Spoiler" by Hyper. On the day it was uploaded, I had unfortunately figured out that it was copyrighted. I had changed the entire beginning intro to accommodate a replacement track, but you can tell it's synced to the original song a little. I got it working the day of.

-The intro intentionally uses a LOT of clips that involve physical impacts in order to grab the viewer's attention. The intro is purpose-built to be fast and exciting. All of these clips are gathered from my Discord members. I'll @ the patreon role for helpful clips next time.

-The intro was also the hardest to edit. It becomes easier as the video goes on. This is for an extremely mundane reason - I had to sort the clips that I had in order to get them on the timeline. Many were color-coded. For the most part, I would say "I want to use this clip" and sort through a few hundred and then find my clip. It was a frustrating process.

-I didn't have any dedicated section to this video for glitches. I know they're there, and the viewer knows it. I don't think glitch discussions would age very well at all, they would probably get patched. They also don't allow for too much sarcasm.

**Part 1: Night City**

-I always intended this to be first. I wanted the video to use jokes and sarcasm to describe most things, then slowly become more and more serious. This is why Night City is the first section, I'm allowed to be funnier and make less points about the game if I go over the lore, story, and factions.

-Night City has the most sections that were "shoved in" after the section was done, because I would get ideas in the shower, write them down, then make them well after the section was "done". The entire music section was an example of this.

-My favorite section to make for the entire video was the "Gangs" section. For the Moxes, an image appears that is an actual Cyberpunk 2020 character sheet (from the tabletop). My friend made a joke character called The Cock Destroyer, and I took a picture of the sheet (with his permission) to use in the video. The coolest faction for me is the Voodoo Boys, and Pacifica is the coolest area in Night City for me.

-The wiki's assertion that the Valentinos "Have no goals other than seducing women" is only true for Cyberpunk 2020, not 2077, but it was too funny to not include, so I deliberately chose to "lie" a little.

-I'm really disappointed that there is no wider system of faction reputation, nor quests with the gangs. I don't think CDPR will change this.

-"List" type sections like when I talk about the corporations are the easiest platforms to generate comedy under. You're allowed to simply talk about the world and be funny.

-I really didn't do enough justice to describe the environments of Night City. Genuinely they are the best of any video game I've seen. There is so much in each area that I'm not entirely convinced that it's fully designed by humans. I would go through an area and couldn't stop thinking - "Did a human place all these advertisements? These signs? Custom build all these buildings?"

-A picture of "squidward's head pogging" appears several times throughout the video.

**Part 2: Gameplay**

-This is where you can see the review is meant to be very opinionated. This is very much my opinion on the game and not a full advisory for the consumer. I had more fun because my build was more fun. I didn't try out everything because I stuck to what was most fun and ridiculous - Mantis Blades melee build.

-But seriously, crit damage revolver builds are so broken.

-This was so easy to make. I don't know why. Finding the clips was fun, easy, and my opinions on the combat were pretty basic. Like this section, there isn't a gigantic amount of complexity to the combat. I genuinely like the progression, though.

-The driving, however, I thought would be much longer. When I talked about it, I realized I summarized every major point that I wanted to make very quickly. I simply do not waste your time when I talk about it, and couldn't find a way to add any length without it just being dumb.

**Part 3: An Open World**

-It's no secret that I'm not a fan of the gigs. This section really makes it evident, and it was hard to discuss the beginnings of the game without mentioning my dislike for the "Gigs" system. Cyberpunk has a lack of "medium length" quests. Quests are either one mission, or they are eight.

-In my opinion: you either need the density of writing and quests of Fallout New Vegas, or some dynamic system, like Red Dead's hunting and robberies, if you want me to have incentive to explore the world and continue engaging with people. I thought this game was going for Fallout: New Vegas, and got disappointed when I realized it couldn't achieve that.

-I was extremely afraid of comparing this game too much to Fallout New Vegas when I consider it to be very different, so I specifically wrote in a conclusion and joke about Todd Howard shooting me for continuing to talk about it.

-The "Walk through" short sidequest that I talk about in the video is more entertaining than most sidequests I could have chosen to walk through. Some of them have literally no nuance or fun.

-I don't have much to say about the "Good" sidequests. They should just be experienced. These I wouldn't consider very optional - Judy's quest, Kerry's quest, these are great, and they're more of what I wanted.

-The section where I describe "The true open world experience" from the perspective of a Militech guard was one of the last sections written in this video, and was put it at the end. It was too good of a concept to not do.

-I didn't actually do all of the Gigs, as I imply in the video. That would be insanity.

-The police section uses a sped up green screen of me running during the "quantum tunneling" joke.

-This section especially uses a TON of footage from my "Cyberpunk 2077 has problems" video.

**Part 4: Story**

-I'm actually aware a lot of people are literally waiting on graphics cards to begin playing the game, but if I said that, I wouldn't have been able to make the "Mecha Xi" joke. Also, I'm studying Chinese with my mother currently, since I have family who speak it, and I wrote the "Chinese dialogue" part of the video in to surprise her and make her laugh.

-It's coming more to light that Keanu might not have been the best character to play Johnny Silverhand. But, I understand the decision.

-V Cannot actually look like Peter Griffin in-game. That is a photoshop. Not mine, though. I just liked the joke so much that I kept accidentally referring to him as "Peter Griffin" in the script.

-When talking about "Villains" I was very afraid that people were going to call me out on Placide not "technically being a villain" because I did the part of the quest where he attacks you. Turns out though, even if everyone does what he wants, they still all hate him.

-This section has, in my opinion, the coolest looking footage of the game. Similarly, the main campaign has the coolest sections of the game. The main story is truly something to love, even over the side content, and I felt like I didn't articulate that super well. It's what makes the game very fun for me. The only problem is the false urgency, which can ruin some people's games if they aren't familiar how game logic works.

-The image that briefly flashes on screen of V covered in toasters was made by me just for those few frames. I also recycle footage from the gameplay section for the very ending of the story section, hope you don't notice.

-I am really scared that I will have to eat a cricket, but if I do, it might get some attention online so, lose win. I'd do it. I'm not really a great person, fame motivates me more than "honor" here.

**Conclusion**

-I think I wrote the funniest way to ever refer to my Patreon subscribers. In the future, I will be writing more funny sections to refer to you, instead of calling you by one name. Perhaps now you are Media Conglomerates and Oil Barons, perhaps next time something else

Interesting read. Watching the video again with these notes made me appreciate the thought process behind it. P.S.: Looking forward to watching you eat a cricket.
