First it had been her fellow students whispering about her in class. Then it was the sidelong glances she received from Manuela and Hanneman as she passed them by. Now, even her own beloved Professor had stolen an inquisitive glance as she passed by on one of her walks around the monastery.
Edelgard had had enough.
“Ugh, of all the days for Hubert to be away… I’m sure he would know what’s gotten into everyone.” The Adrestian princess sighed, taking a moment to rest her feet in the empty dining hall.
“Oh, there you are Edie!” A warm voice called from a nearby entrance.
Edelgard quickly got to her feet and regained her practiced posture, but felt a little more sluggish than usual. “Hello, Dorothea.”
“Congratulations on your future bundle of joy! Oh this is so exciting! When were you going to tell me?” The former songstress beamed, her starry eyes darting between her friend’s face and tummy.
“Future bundle of-!? Dorothea, what on Earth are you talking about?” Pinching the bridge of her nose, Edelgard shook her head and audibly exhaled.
“Oh come now, Edie, don’t play coy~” Dorothea giggled quietly. “Your baby! Who are you having it with? How long have you known? Ooh, have you thought up any names yet!? I think you look a little bigger already!”
“Dorothea, I haven’t the slightest idea what you’re talking about. Please, start from the beginning.” It took all of her years of training to keep her composure and to speak so calmly.
“You know, your pregnancy? Constance told me that you told her that you’re expecting!”
“WHAT!?” Edelgard couldn’t help but let the mask slip and reveal her pure shock. “I did no such thing! And I am NOT preg-” Realising she had raised her voice, Edelgard paused, took a deep breath, and regained her composure. “Dorothea, I am not pregnant, and I have no idea why Constance would say such a thing.”
“Ohhh, you need to keep it under wraps, I see! I suppose it just wouldn’t do for everyone to know the crown princess has a little one on the way. Don’t worry Edie, as far as I’m concerned, these rumours are nothing but~” Dorothea winked, then walked off with a spring in her step.
“Dorothea, I-!! Hhh, she’s already gone…” Edelgard facepalmed and tried to gather her thoughts. “Damn it, Constance!” She muttered under her breath.
Hungry for answers, she decided she should get to the bottom of the situation and pay the Ashen Wolves a visit down in Abyss - but as soon as she left the dining hall, a sudden wave of nausea overcame her. Edelgard leaned forward and held her stomach, but thankfully the sick feeling soon subsided. When She stood up, the crown princess realised her hand was touching bare skin; her tummy was bulging out from her tight officer’s academy uniform ever so slightly!
Edelgard froze. The idea that she might actually be pregnant formed in her mind, but as soon as the thought appeared, she swatted it away like a fly - a fly that was nothing but a bother to be dealt with and promptly forgotten.
“Pregnant. Ha!” She scoffed, pulling down her shirt only for her tummy to poke out once more. Ignoring her visibly grown tummy, she continued on to Abyss.
As she approached the shifty merchant, Edelgard spotted Ingrid and the new student, Rinkah, leaving the training grounds. Both women were in light training garments, sporting chest wraps and tight linen leggings that made Edelgard blush. A sudden heat formed between her legs at the sight of two gorgeous women in form-fitting clothes, leaving her short of breath. Shutting her eyes, she imagined dull, imperial duties to fend off her sudden spike in libido.
With people in sight, she desperately needed to play it cool to not raise any more unwanted attention to herself. Unfortunately, another wave of nausea and a wicked bout of vertigo washed over her. Panicking as she tried to hide any sign of weakness, Edelgard turned and leaned face-first against the nearest wall.
“Edelgard, was it? Are you alright?” Rinkah called as she and Ingrid approached.
With a deep breath, the Black Eagle house leader thought she could play it off as if she hadn’t heard anyone. All she had to do was quickly turn back and-
“Nnng, wh-whuh?” Edelgard moaned. She’d gotten disoriented and spun the wrong way, walking straight into Ingrid and Rinkah! She didn’t even notice that her swollen belly had bumped into the exposed tummies of both other girls, invisibly passing on her pregnancy curse in the process.
“Woah there, take it easy. Wouldn’t want you to make yourself sick rushing around the place!” Ingrid said concernedly. “Especially considering you, well, you know-”
“Don’t coddle me, Ingrid! I’m not preg-! I’m n-not p-!!” Before she could finish her sentence, Edelgard slapped a hand to her mouth as she felt a little bile creep up her throat. This latest wave of nausea died off as swiftly as it came. After taking a deep breath, she continued calmer than before. “Ingrid, I can assure you that I most certainly am not pregnant. It would seem that Constance has been spreading this rumour about me, and I intend to put a stop to it immediately.”
“What? Why would she do such a thing!?” Ingrid gasped.
“I’m on my way to find out right now.” Edelgard didn’t realise it, but she was gradually growing not just in her belly, but everywhere; her whole body was being scaled in response to Dorothea’s belief that she ‘looked a little bigger already’! Her rumbling stomach alerted her to the fact she suddenly had a craving for sugary Enbarr treats, despite their off-putting and almost sickly sweetness. She had half a mind to turn back and raid the dining hall, but Ingrid interrupted that impulse before it could take root in her mind.
“We’re coming with you! Right, Rinkah?” Ingrid subtly adjusted her leggings as her body, too, began to upscale itself. Her panties were starting to ride up, causing her to become a blushy mess.
The new student, meanwhile, felt some nausea of her own as her belly swelled just enough to soften the definition of her prominent abs. “Er, r-right…” She winced as the worst of her nausea passed.
Each footfall echoed through the ancient tunnels leading deeper into Garreg Mach’s underworld. With every step the girls took, it seemed the stony walls around them got narrower and the ceiling sunk lower over their heads. The winding flights of stairs felt increasingly labyrinthian as more vertigo and nausea overcame them, which was only made worse by the growing mass in the trio’s tummies shifting them off their balance.
Suddenly appearing from around a corner, Sylvain stopped by to say hello. “Hey ladies, looking great!” He flashed a toothy grin as he tried to come across as charming, then addressed the elephant in the room with no subtlety or grace. “Congratulations, by the way! Are you three headed to the New Mommies’ Club?”
“Sylvain, do you have even a sliver of tact!?” Ingrid clawed her own hair exasperatedly. “And what do you mean us three!?”
“D-did that Constance person say we all were pregnant?” Rinkah muttered, subconsciously holding her now-noticeably rotund midsection.
“-Which we are not, by the way!” Edelgard added, clenching her fists. As she spoke, her tummy again began to slowly expand and she subtly grew a couple more inches in height. She irritably tugged at the neck of her shirt and pulled her uniform down over her belly, but it simply snapped back again to keep her lower tummy revealed. “Tell everyone Constance opened her big mouth without knowing what she was talking about!”
“Well, alright then. I suppose you do know your own situations best, but…” Sylvain scanned everyone from top to bottom.
“But what, Sylvain?” Ingrid crossed her arms and scowled.
“...But you look-” He cut himself off mid-sentence, unsure how to point out that they looked to be about four or five months pregnant. Despite each formerly-short woman now standing taller than him, Sylvain didn’t register that they were also on their way to becoming giantesses! “Nevermind.”
“H-hey, don’t just walk away! Sylvain!!” Ingrid turned, but just looking up the stairs from which they came was a dizzying experience that only served to make her want to hurl.
“Forget him, Ingrid.” Edelgard huffed. “Soon we’ll put a stop to this nonsense.”
As the trio made their way further into Abyss, Rinkah couldn’t stop glancing between Ingrid, Edelgard, and herself. Edelgard’s clothes now looked a few sizes too small, and Ingrid’s chest wrap was beginning to tear from the newfound strain. All three of their tums were undeniably round now, and Rinkah just couldn't ignore it. “Um… what if we are pregnant?”
“What? Don’t be absurd! It’s just a rumour, nothing more.” Edelgard huffed, again futilely battling with her restrictive clothing as she continued to outgrow them.
“I think we’d- huff- know if we had gotten ourselves p-pregnant.” Ingrid commented breathlessly; her chestwrap was beginning to stifle her breathing and agitate her sore breasts. Her leggings, thankfully, were stretchy enough to compensate for her widening hips and upscaling legs.
“Well, then I th-think there’s something more t-tangible happening to us…” Rinkah rubbed her watery eyes as a drastic mood swing hit her like an axe.
“Ohhh, don’t worry Rinkah…” Ingrid caringly rubbed her new classmate’s shoulder in a supportive gesture. “We’ll get this sorted out, ok? We’ll- Nnng, w-we’ll…” Before she knew it, the bandages around her chest snapped! Shreds of cloth gracefully fell away, leaving her bare breasts exposed. “Mmm, that’s better…”
“Um, don’t you think we’re g-growing? Our clothes are tight, and now… I th-think something is making us expand…”
At that, Rinkah’s top tore itself apart too, but thankfully she felt no reservations about being seen nude. Ingrid, though, barely seemed to notice she was now topless. Edelgard’s school uniform, meanwhile, stretched and tore but remained tightly hugging her expanding form.
Finally, the three students reached Abyss. Black market merchants, fugitives, and other dubious individuals observed the surface dwellers as they made their entrance, but it was impossible to tell who knew of the rumours and who was just shocked to see the future emperor of Adrestia in their subterranean home. All Rinkah could think of, though, was just how small everyone looked, and not just by measure of height; normal, grown adults felt almost akin to children when compared to the trio! She figured this must have been what it was like to see the world through the eyes of a hulking faceless.
Though she had previously been significantly shorter than Ingrid, Rinkah now found herself ever so slightly taller than her. The idea that she was growing faster than the others unnerved her to her core. “Um… What if we can’t fit back through the tunnels again? Do you think… we might get stuck down here?”
“Come now, surely we’re not truly growing. This must simply be, um… s-some sort of perception hex.” Ingrid rebuked infirmly, looking down at her bare chest; her boobs were tender and swollen, as would happen during pregnancy.
“Hence the vertigo and this damn feeling of sickness.” Edelgard added with a bit more conviction. “Constance loves arcane experimentation; I bet she’s taking notes while watching us somewhere as we speak.”
“W-well, maybe…” As Rinkah gently rubbed her bloated tummy, she felt a little kick from within! She dared not move a muscle, frozen in shock as the tears returned to her eyes. A swirl of confusing and unnerving emotions were rocking her mind like a boat in a stormy sea, and she was utterly unprepared for it.
“Ahhh, there you are, Lady Edelgard! I must say you are looking splen… did…” Constance arrived on Burrow Street to meet her expected guest, but trailed off as she caught sight of the two unexpected ones. “My, my, what have we here!” She circled around Rinkah and Ingrid like a vulture, looking perhaps a little too close at the transforming women. “I see my work has spread to your friends, too! How marvellous! I simply must insist you join me for tea and testing-”
“Constance.” Edelgard growled. “What is the meaning of this? Why would you spread such lies about us!?”
“Ohohohoho, rumours you say? Why, I have only been stating the truth~” The boisterous woman boomed theatrically. Seeing that Edelgard and Ingrid were staring daggers at her, Constance changed her tune. “Oh alright, I am testing an incantation that is shaped by rumour and fed by belief. As my wonderspell has performed flawlessly, I dare say that - in a roundabout way - I have spoken nothing but fact!”
Now, Rinkah’s quiet cries became indiscreet sobbing. The soon-to-be giantess sat on the hard stone floor and held her belly - which now looked almost a month ahead of the others. Yet more nausea came and went, on and off as she gently rocked back and forth.
“Oh Rinkah, it’s alright. It’ll be alright…” Ingrid cooed and knelt next to her classmate to give a caring hug, then glared at the one behind it all. “...and you will make sure of that, right Constance?”
“Oho, of course!” Constance leaned in to observe Edelgard’s midsection. “But first, tell me everything that happened! What have you said, what have others said, what-”
“NOW, CONSTANCE!” The Adrestian heir snapped with an uncharacteristic venom in her voice.
“Why turn back when there are discoveries to be made? Besides, I am yet to devise a counterspell, so-”
“Then devise one! What gives you the right to toy with our lives anyway!?”
“I am not toying with anything, thank you very much! I am on the frontier of magical science! Ohohohohohohooo!!” Constance posed deviously as her maniacal laugh echoed throughout the cavernous underground city. “This has been a rousing success! I simply must find myself more test subjects!! But who, and what…?” She then abruptly ran off deeper into Abyss.
“Constance, don’t you dare-!” Edelgard reached out to stop her, but she was too slow with her cumbersome new form. Due to her massive size, she couldn’t even pursue Constance down the tight, narrow corridors. “Damn it Constance, come back here!! Rrrgh!!”
The onlookers whose attention had been drawn to the commotion gradually moved on to their own business once the shouting ceased, and life resumed around them.
Edelgard took a deep breath, defeatedly slumped to her knees, and tried her damnedest not to cry. Conflicting feelings battled within her; a child would be a hindrance to her plans and had no place on the road she chose to walk, yet she couldn’t help but feel love and pride as she rubbed her round torso.
“Maybe…” Edelgard began, biting her lip. “Maybe we aren’t truly pregnant. Constance can’t know for sure that her spell worked… right?”
By now, Rinkah had been calmed by Ingrid and was able to think with a clearer head. “Edelgard, look at us. Look at yourself! This has to be real… Denying it won’t do us any good.”
“She’s right, you know.” As Ingrid gritted her teeth, her stomach rumbled quite audibly. “Nnng, I’m starving… We should get some grub. You know, regroup and energise ourselves.”
Agreeing with Ingrid - and craving sweets again - Edelgard sluggishly got back to her feet to follow her and Rinkah back where they came from. They all had to duck so they didn’t hit their heads on the ceiling now that they were all almost nine feet tall, but that was easier said than done when they were all with child.

Meanwhile, Constance was giddily wandering the halls below Garreg Mach looking for anyone to gossip with. Lucky for her, she soon found Balthus standing around the Ashen Wolves classroom.
“Balthus! You will not believe what I have just heard~” She skipped closer as the lie formed on her lips. Leaning in to the Leicesterian man’s ear, she whispered. “You did not hear it from me, but I hear Hilda Goneril has minotaur blood!”
“Woah woah, what!? Damn, that girl has some serious strength! How’d she take down a beast like that?” Balthus exclaimed.
“No, you big dummy! She did not obtain minotaur blood, her own blood is minotaur blood!”
Balthus stood in stunned silence for a moment then spoke up. “...really?”
“Yes! Would I ever lie to you?~”
