Regarding a Potential Update to Commission Terms For Swimsuit Versions-

So, my recently posted commission of the character Mayo for @Fishing_mann and @MelonPanVR has uncovered an eventuality I hadn't considered.

The swimsuit version of the Mayo Commission is an official MelonPan outfit and they requested the option to post it publicly on twitter.

It was at this point that I realized that I hadn't actually taken into account that a client might want to post the swimsuit version publicly. (This is, of course, a ridiculous oversight on my part, but please just try to understand that sometimes I'm really stupid.)

To this point I had only thought of the SS version as something that I was generating for a patron bonus where the option for the client to buy a copy was a novelty, and I didn't have a plan for what to do in this situation. After some thought, the following is the compromise I came up with-

The Compromise-

I have built-in to my commission terms the offer to buy a copy of the original .psd files for the SS version for an extra fee of $15.

My proposed alteration to the terms would be that this extra fee would also be the cost to allow the client to break exclusivity and post the swimsuit version when/if they post the core commission to their social-media accounts.

If this update to the terms is adopted, anyone who previously paid for the Swimsuit .psd files on a patron commission would be able to post it to social media if they choose, and anyone who did not buy it would have the option to do so now in order to retroactively gain the right themselves.

Why I'm making a post about this-

While I personally think this is a fair compromise, I also understand the importance of exclusive content for patrons.

While this doesn't change the fact that poll images and my personal works will retain exclusivity on patreon swimsuit alts, it could change the perception of value by some patrons for the weeks that I release Commissions to the public. As such I wanted to give fair warning and leave the opportunity for some discussion if this decision was going to be seen as particularly controversial or detrimental to the overall patreon experience.

Thank you if you read this far, and I look forward to hearing your opinions!

Awesome! Thank you for taking the time to read through it. This was a big help!

I think formalizing this is a good move. It gives you a clear, consistent rule instead of having to handle edge cases ad hoc, and it acknowledges that public posting has value separate from the work itself. From a patron perspective, There’s still a concrete benefit no matter how you slice it. :)

No problem! Thank you for commenting! I know it was a bit of a wall of text, so I'm hoping that won't scare anyone off from reading it; I definitely want to get patron opinions on this!

Thanks for letting us know of the updates. I'll keep this in mind for the future.
