Comic short #1: "Pillow Talk"

Working on Perception means I have to work on stuff I don't want to. Documentation, scripts, drawing backgrounds and props...or hell, just drawing the non-size related scenes that are needed to drive narrative. Sometimes I get a bit discouraged and overwhelmed with the amount of work I have so I like to draw something indulgent in those times to release some of that pressure. For some time now I've been drawing these short comics that may or may not be canon. These may or may not end up in the final comic, but if I can make it work, I will! So with that mindset, please enjoy these rough, little, slice-of-life ideas for Perception comic.

As I've mentioned before, I know it's no secret that one of my goals in this 'origin' story is for us to explore a romantic relationship between the two (among other things). I've always drawn these two together, and I know that's what my audience expects, but I want to create something that is relatable. For many of my readers you can clearly see the difference in my earliest comics to my latest Mystical Miami. I want stories with relationships that feel REAL. With Perception, I want to create a size story you're comfortable being a fan of, one that isn't too campy, too indulgent, or thinks too little of the reader. Veronica and Sergio are only a few years away from 40, and have had many romantic experiences throughout their lives, know what they want, etc, so you can imagine that hijinks and drama we will get into as they deal with so many conflicting emotions.

These comic sketches may be a bit more indulgent than the final product, but I hope you get a sense of desire, confusion, restraint, and so much more. It will be a fun, messy, romance as close to reality as I can write it. Some of these shorts may also have nothing to do with relationships at all, but regardless, I hope they are a fun little sizey thing to look forward to. I'll try and upload these semi-frequently.
