Lets start this one with an apology. I have been a little MIA recently. So in this post I'm keeping it real. Grab a cuppa, its quite the read!
The last month has been a struggle for me. It all started when I had a freak accident and seriously burned my hands. I was simply cooking some Chicken wings, something i've done thousands of times,. All of a sudden I hear a huge popping sound and waves of scolding hot oil leapt out of the pan and onto my hands. The pain was incredible and for a couple of weeks i was unable to do anything due to the pain. Fortunately Kei is a trained first aider so things could have been much worse. Luckily I have no serious damage caused, just a slight discolouration of skin.
While recovering from that I developed an ear infection.
The combination of shitty things going on within me caused a mental health episode. I realised that i was frustrated with my living conditions, missing family, feeling homesick and pretty darn tired of Spain in general.
We both see its time for a change.
Then I receive a phone call. You know that type of call where the phone rings and you get that sinking feeling...... I was told to prepare for the worst that day as a family member had some serious issues going on. Fortunately the family member in question is still with us, but living on borrowed time.
Its funny how when you're on the back end of a string of unfortunate event it causes either self destruction or serves as motivation to push for what you want.
Chats were had. Feelings were spilled. Decisions made.
So first on the agenda was to sort the living space. And the best way to do that when all you own are clothes is simply to move house. Done and dusted.
After a whirlwind of a month its just what the fam and I need. The relief is palpable.
After some soul searching and acting on decisions made we are feeling much more like us. More than we have in a while.
Time to shoot to the stars and make the most of the short journey of life xx
