BTS: Testing Earthworks SR30

I’ve been very lucky indeed this afternoon, as not only have I (temporarily) got my hands on a fantastic Earthworks SR30 cardioid condenser microphone to test out, but Mrs PSFX has also taken the kids out for the afternoon!
So, with my newfound and unexpected freedom, I set up the SR30 and fixed a little contact microphone behind a wooden cutting board. Then I picked up my favourite rock and gave it a good old rub!
I’ve added a sprinkle of EQ to take off the top end, and a healthy dash of reverb to widen out the audio.
To quote my absolute favourite sound designer, Robert Dudzic, ‘What does this sound remind you of?’ :)
