“No. It’s just that everyone mourns them on this day, but I do it every fucking day. At the end of the day, they walk away from this and get ready for another day. I end this day never being able to put ghosts to rest. Having to realize that I get to add another damn tick to all of the days I’ve had to live without them.” He sighs and lays back so that he is now lying down, gazing up at the sky with a blank look. “My d’uun can at least make it seem like she’s not hurting. I always kind of envied that about her. Sometimes I forget that while I’m mourning parents and siblings, she’s mourning the death of her own child and grandchildren. At the end of the day, I’m not only the last dragon of Draconis blood, but also her the last family she has ...”

He grows quiet, and you begin to feel idle, forced to watch as he goes through this alone. Sitting here in silence wouldn’t be helpful for either of you, and as you rack your brain for solutions, you can only think of one.
