Week 3 Update

Apologies, holiday shenanigans of course.

Most of the gap between this and the last one was spent finishing the editing on Nour (I have only one chapter left to edit and have been working on chapter 10) and doing some comm work. As this month comes to an end, I have been faced with one thing ... why the hell is this challenge during a holiday month? Like you have September right there. Why do you put the writing challenge during the busiest three months? It makes no sense.

So for Nour I am now doing one last read over, this to make sure no obvious bugs and typos are there (I am sick and tired of reading that prologue. My god.) Make sure all the variables are working as best as I can and ensure the story tracks. Not giving a date but soon. Once 10 is done, I'll update for both links as well as put up the Extra Chapters vote.

I want everyone to know that after I do this stuff for Nour, don't ever say their name around me again. K? K. I think they have become my most despised character, Allison is free now.

Sneak Peek 1:

"Nour," you interrupt, trying to hold back the laughter that threatens to spill out. "Are you proposing?"

"I am … Am I behaving too irrationally again?"

"I would not say that, but we have all the time in the world."

"You keep saying that," they laugh, shaking their head as they yank you to them. "And I still can't believe it." They let you go, softly caressing your cheek before resting their forehead on yours.

"Not a proposal. But a promise. A promise to always try to make an effort. To stay by your side. To love you to the end of the world and then, even when we take the plunge over the side, continue to do so. $name, I loved you then, and I love you now. I shall be here for as long as you will have me."

Sneak Peek 2:

"With all that you've been through, we understand if you don't forgive us." Your father takes a deep breath in before giving you a lopsided smile, one whose purpose is to hold back tears, but it fails. "But please, do not fault us for hoping that you will."

"You said that you did not know?"

"Come now, $name," your mother chides. "Do you think we would if we did? As we have told you before, we were desperate, and she told us that she could help. Even after the caravan was attacked, she came to us, questioning where you were and why you had not yet arrived. We believed you dead by bandits."

"And yet, you still searched for me?"

"We had to hold out hope," your father confirms, steadying his breath. "Until we saw a corpse, we would not have stopped. We dwindled the troop numbers as they moved further north because our kind could not survive. That is when we depended strictly on Saabiq and another named, Pharos." He approaches, offering you his hands.

[[Take them.]]

[[Let them linger there.]]
