2024-12-27 23:40:49 +0000 UTCI was SO looking forward to season 2! I love this ongoing theme of the illusion of βfree choice.β Like with the bread vs lottery ticket. The suit guy was making it out like they were βtrashβ for not choosing the bread. But 1) he didnβt tell them that he was going to crush the bread like some psycho clown and 2) one bun is not going to change their lives, while a winning ticket might. Just like in the games they kept saying βitβs your choice to be hereβ while the people playing didnβt know the games were manipulated so that all of them but one were going to die. It mirrors the problematic thinking of a lot of privileged/powerful people in the real world. That those of worse circumstances are only there because of their own choices and deserve to be there.
