CHAPTER UPDATE

Next chapter: It's Time to Duel! Chapter 27.

Thinking of doing this as a future community thing for every chapter. Like how Parcasious does at the end of his fics. Shoutout to them, their work is just... Muah. Chef's kiss.

It also motivates me to write too, seeing how people actually want to read my stuff.

(Not to say that I don't see it. Pointing at all you lovely paid Patreon members!)

Anyway, the chapter 50% completed. Said 50% containing all the dialogue and words before and after the Duel, the missing 50% is the content in the chapter's Duel.

I swear, the only think holding me back from posting fast chapters is making the decks for the non-important characters. Like the instructors in canon, their decks in canon are just... what am I even supposed to do with it?

There are two choices:

One, I cook up a new deck that actually is good. The only problem is that it's taking too long. I'm not a trained professional at creating decks, especially old ones in the GX Era. I've started drafting for Chapter 27 for... Half a month now, and I still have no idea what to do for this Duelist's deck cause there's just nothing in the Wiki to go by.

Two, I let Ken absolutely demolish said NPCs to the ground. It makes my life easier, and you guys get the chapters much faster. The problem is this: I don't want Ken to be a Gary Stu. I already have complaints about how he doesn't lose, or that his deck is OP compared to the cast, or that other people just have shittier decks.

Just a side tangent, every Duel with a named-character, I upgraded their deck slightly to match Ken's deck. For example, the Dark Magician deck in his fight with Yugi. I personally updated his deck and then some more, the only reason why you don't see it is because I'm actually using a sim to play the rounds out. The Pot of Greeds baffled even me.

And in the fight with Edo Phoenix, his deck was actually goated, by the way. It had all the basic staples a HERO deck would have, and actual D-HERO supports to boot. Brother, was his canon deck horrid. No extenders, no combo starters, definitely no Stratos. It's far harder to cook up a deck with limited resources.

I pray every night to be able to skip a few dozen chapters to actually get to the good stuff, where decks are actually playable, like Vision HERO or even Yubel Engines for example. Those two would make deck building a life saver.

So, to the people who complain about how I just make Ken OP while keeping the others restricted to their canon cards. Well, I try, but I'm just not good at the game. I just love Yu-Gi-Oh, especially GX.

I'm not Jesse Kotton. Currently as of this update, I'm Silver Two on Master Duel. So, yeah.

OK, slight rant is done. Sorry about that. Had to get it off my chest.
