or maybe I can go a little more... lol One total gives Marion 12 kills vs Indy 11 kills... but the big strong boxing guy killed by a propeller counts as Marion's kill because she caused the plane to start up so she took a kill from Indy (also he was losing the fight anyway.)

okay so the film is from 1981 but I'm not going to research typical television shows of the time and other films because... from what I understand the inspiration for Indiana Jones is adventure serials... possibly from radio, basically from the past perhaps 40 years prior, even earlier. Of course modernized for the 80s. Since I brought up killing, oops... Marion does killing basically in self-defense while Indy also does it in self-defense except he puts himself in those situations so he's basically instigating them. I've always liked the movie but for some reason now I realize there's a lot of killing lol. It's intended really as just part of the adventure... but at the same time I saw a guy get skewered through the torso with a sword... he could survive that in one version of the story but in another version he's totally dead. The guy with the two-handed word that Indy shoots... he could live from that, it could be a shoulder shot, he did spin to his right... he could be alive but also we assume he's totally dead. But we didn't see him dead, we saw him fall, he's in a state of superposition both dead and alive. There is a guy Indy shot in the face or between the eyes and so that guy's not coming back. But then there are ones Indy just knocks unconscious... so the story seems consistent in its inconsistency. Anyway I've gone on too much about this point lol.

what an amazing outro talk as usual, I always appreciate that. You made so many good points. Indy kills people... so that makes him a killer. His character though is a product of the entertainment industry of the time. I'm not saying this is bad or anything - yes killing is bad in general but not in movies so much because they don't actually represent real life. You can't say that he doesn't kill people. He does it with bravado and with humor, interesting... and he does it almost indiscriminately and with no remorse. A product of the times 🙂
