Hey everyone. I'm so sorry about this video not being available to watch for so long. I know it doesn't make it better, but I have been dealing with some physical limitations that have made it difficult to live life in a normal way.
I completely understand if you no longer wish to continue to support this channel. If so, please feel free to submit a refund if you haven't already and let me know if you run into any issues. You guys are my biggest priority when it comes to making these videos and I hate to let you down. I appreciate you so much for everything and I will work on finding a better way to do this. 2024-05-15 19:14:07 +0000 UTCThe themes of Contact make it feel like part of a sortof trilogy to me, with Interstellar and Arrival (the Denis Villenueve one, not the campy 90s one, haha). All 3 great movies you might enjoy near each other, though I'd put Arrival at the top of what I could recommend you check out overall. It's such a unique movie, beautifully done film that might also be an opportunity to talk about how it compares to Contact.

And while YouTube edits are tricky with claims sometimes, I'm not sure you could really predict a watchalong to get claimed so I wasn't surprised it took some time to realize a problem and fix it. Sure, it was dissaponting to run into it being blocked when I went to watch, but thats only because of interest in your thoughts about a very good film that I think has some importance to a lot of us that grew up with science, space and hard scifi. Also the collapse a few years ago of the Arecibo telescope Arroway starter out at was a sad reminder of the film as well.
