Rigor mortis doesn't affect the skin, just the muscles. But, the idea that the skin is getting fragile just due to decay and dehydration seems valid. I had always assumed that part of the reason for the awkward movement, which he was doing pretty much from the start, was due to having the giant bug body squeezed down into a human-sized package.

Thomas Yanez

At least a part of why the bug in the Edgar suit moves so awkwardly, especially towards the end is because as the movie is going on rigor mortis is setting in so it's getting harder and harder to move the skin around without breaking it and ruining the disguise. I think the actor really sells it.

EGGAR 😂😂

Great reaction as always, and never tire of this film. BTW you should absolutely react to The Full Monty - didn't deserve to beat Danny Elfman to the best soundtrack oscar, but it's a wonderful, hilarious and touching film. I think you'd enjoy it.

David Butler

Great reaction, Whimsory, it was fun re-watching this one. I think the last time I watched this movie all the way through was some time in the early 2000's. The bug scenes always makes me laugh out loud xD I say you should watch the second movie, it's fun enough imo ^___^

It's been a bit since I've seen this. I'd be up for rewatching the others here too. They're not as good as the first, but still fun I think. It's funny how you rewatch a movie you've not seen for a long time and recognise actors who took off since or who've been more prominent in other things you've seen since. Like David Cross as the receptionist at the morgue. The Alien in the pawn shop is Tony Shaloub, who play Monk in*checks notes* Monk. And Edgar was Vincent D'Nofrio who for a good while has been playing Kingpin in the Netflix Daredevil series, Hawkeye and will again in Disney+' Daredevil series. Oh, and Rip Torn later playing the unforgettable Patches O'Houlihan in Dodgeball (an amazing, very, very funny film you definitely should react to). Also, why does Google Chrome not think 'rewatch' is a word? Also-Also, I always liked Chris O'Donnell... but agree MiB wouldn't have been nearly as fun with him instead of Will Smith. Oh, and also-also-also - just thought/remembered... funny thing about the stars of this movie being (Will) Smith and (Tommy-Lee) Jones... there was a sketch comedy show on here in the UK in the 80s-90 called 'Alas Smith and Jones' starring Mel Smith (A fairly accomplished director too - also was the Albino in The Princess Bride) and Griff Rhys Jones. Just kind of funny to me, thought I'd share. If you do watch the sequels yourself, do enjoy them.. as said, not as great as this one, but still fun.

Without spoilers or judgment, I will just say "3". And leave it at that.

Second one is fine. It’s kinda fun. Franks in it more. The third is really good. Fourth was so bad. I’d say you could watch the sequel on your own or on the channel. I’d like to see a reaction of the second and/or third. MIB International ugh. No.
