Beetlejuice (1988) ♦Movie Reaction♦ LONG VERSION!

Comments

The "suffering" of the fly Beetlejuice ate was a reference to an iconic scene from the original 1958 version of "The Fly".

😺Whim!!! 😺 One Michael Keaton movie that's off the radar is "One Good Cop" (1991).

I loved that analogy of yours. "An outlet for my imagination". Yeah, it is like a high spirited dog indulging his desire to run free in a field, off the leash. 🤪 Also yeah, bullies suck. I endured a bit of that in Jr. High. My parents started me in school a bit early, so most of the kids were about a half a year or more older than me. Temporary size advantage. By High School I was full grown, so they stopped messing with me then. 💪

No no, I thought your random inclusion of twisters was funny. It’s fine if you didn’t like it. Oof sorry about your circumstances that got you into public school and a more traditional upbringing. I totally understand though. I also uprooted my entire life when my dad died 3 years ago to help my mom out on the farm. I even had to sell my home (plus side, excellent market right now for a seller). So now I also live in the boonies, and I am not sure about you but I loathe it >.< I am more of a mid size town kind of guy.

Yeah, sorry to be such a downer about Twisters but it just wasn’t what I was expecting! Of course, it could just be that I loved the Bill Paxton/Helen Hunt one too much lol. And growing up was interesting. A lot changed because my dad passed away. I have a ton of siblings so there wasn’t time to homeschool anymore with only Mom working. She was able to raise us a more traditional way after that, until eventually my youngest brothers were basically allowed to watch/play/listen to whatever they wanted to. Hopefully it was a little bit smoother sailing for you growing up!

Wow, you even included a bonus twisters review! lol Ah so you come from an uber religious family. Kind of interesting they sent you to public high school after home schooling rather than a catholic school. Now that you are an adult, have your parents eased up on you with the things they used to be restrictive about?

Rainingmadness

You should watch 'Mr. Mom' its one of Michael Keatons best!

Another great, more modern Michael Keaton movie is The Founder (2016). It's about the creation of McDonalds!

I don't go to the theater anymore either. I think the last time was to see "The Force Awakens". I WISH I had seen "2001" and "Planet of the Apes" in the theater, but my parents only took me to Disney movies back then. I was also really curious to see "The Exorcist", but I wasn't old enough to get in without a parent. And there was NO WAY my parents were going to let me see THAT. Not for religious reasons. They just thought I was too young to see something scary and shocking. You should definitely watch "Carrie" someday. The first Stephen King story, made into a movie. You'll find it relatable, since it's about a girl suffering from a strict religious upbringing. But I'm sure what you endured, was NOT NEARLY as bad. 😬 Brian De Palma directed it, and Sissy Spacek was GREAT. You can see why she later became an Oscar winner. De Palma also directed a really freaky cult movie just before called "Phantom of the Paradise". It's great too! Kinda like "Rocky Horror Picture Show", but BETTER. Keep up the good work Whimsory! 👍

This'll be a treat! Happy to hear there's more horror in store this Octob...gore?

And deprive herself the brilliance of Batman Returns? Nonsense.

The joke you didn't get was a reference to The Wizard of Oz, which you should probably see at some point. It's a classic for a reason....

Chris Gronau

Winona Ryder!

If you are going to watch Batman with Michael Keaton I would suggest stopping at the first one and then maybe go on to the newer ones with Christian Bale. The joke that you didn't get was a reference to The Wizard of Oz (1939).
