October Poll!

Hiya everyone! So sorry for the long break on polls. They are back in full swing, and here is October's poll based on suggestions from comments left on previous poll posts here on Patreon. Thank you for so much variety in your entries. Please feel free to leave a comment on this post of a film you'd like me to include in the next poll, and I will choose at random from requests! This will help me keep better track of recommendations because sometimes I get a lot.

P.S. As always, if your movie doesn't get chosen (maybe it is more niche or lesser known), it will still remain on my list that I keep currently. I will do my darndest to get to it eventually!

Note: Because I will be doing a couple horror movies this month, I've focused on other genres so we have at least one non-horror, for the sake of my sanity😁

Amelie 38% Silver Linings 23%, it was not the winner.

If she hasn't watched any Edward Norton, I still think Primal Fear is the place to start

For more Michael Keaton I suggest watching Batman from 1989 just to enjoy Birdman from 2014 even more :) Birdman is about an actor who got very famous 20 years earlier by playing a comic book superhero named Birdman but always wanted to be seen as a more serious actor and has struggled to move on since then. So basically Michael Keaton has the lead role in a movie that is all about making fun of Michael Keaton... When watching the movie I often didn't know if it was ok to laugh because the real person they made fun of was right there on the screen... Birdman won four Oscars in 2015, "Best Motion Picture of the Year" being one of them.

Fredrik Trobro

I'd suggest Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004). Would enjoy seeing what awards are handed out.

Zinphad

Ahhhhh that's where it's from? 😅 Thanks!

Since Whimsory missed the joke about "someone dropped a house on her sister" in Beetlejuice, "The Wizard of Oz" might be a good suggestion.

Chris Gronau

I hereby suggest Pig (2021). For Horror maybe something like Mandy (2018), Infinity Pool (2023), or In a Violent Nature (2024). Just enjoying the ride!

Suggestion for Christmas: It's a Wonderful Life (1946)

Tom Tattershall

My suggestion is a lighthearted comedy with Tom Hanks called The Burbs from 1989. It also sorta has a spooky vibe to it so it would fit in nicely as an October pick.

Cameron Kerby

A random suggestion for a scary movie: The Silence of the Lambs. The only horror movie to ever win the Academy Award for Best Picture, and one of only three movies to win all five of the Big 5 Academy Awards (Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenplay).

Chris Gronau

Videodrome (1983) is another great Cronenberg movie that I think would really benefit from your style of rewatching and researched outro.

Hunter DeRensis

Random suggestions, "Unforgiven" 1992 Directed by Clint Eastwood and "True Grit" 2010 Directed by the Coen Brothers. Both are unconventional westerns.

Nicholas Coy

Suggestion: Blue Velvet

"Dances with Wolves" (1990) with Kevin Costner. This single year was "Thee Reissuance of Cinema!" And that's a Fact Jack! < Bill Murray said that!

Randolph Tirazona

It's the only one I've seen Jennifer is a bonus 😆

Randolph Tirazona

Death to Smoochie

Brian Littlejohn

Amelie is a fun film.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty 🤩 I hope, that it will return in one of the next pools if it won't win this time.

I'm really torn on a suggestion, sense it's Oct I'm going to recommend Evil Dead 2.

Crimson Possum

I'm only voting The Ladykillers in the hope you will do the 2004 version with Tom Hanks instead.

Chris Brown

Cool.

Michael Spencer

Whoa whoa whoa. The Man From No Where? As in my favorite Korean action film that is like a proto-John wick? That The Man From No Where?
